Hi, Was wondering how accurate mouse for less and allears is for dates? They both say the Osbourne lights will begin November 9th 2012 - Jan 4th 2013. Disneyworld.com has not added this years dates.

Those dates are the "official" ones at this time. (All things are subject to change at WDW.)

BTW, disneyworld.com is about the least accurate place to check for ANYTHING.

(No, I'm not kidding.)

What time does this start each night? And it goes off every 10 min or so correct??

:welcome: to posting on the DISboards, Sherri!

1- At some time between 5:45PM and 6:30 PM. (Depends on the date.)

2- Once the lights are turned on for the evening, they (basically) stay on for the remainder
of the DHS evening.

What "goes off" every 10-20 minutes is a special show, when the Lights "dance" to specific
musical selections.
Then, after each show, the lights remain on.

I thought in the past the Osborne lights are usually up through the weekend after the 1st. We did not go last year but I know we have gone previous years the first weekend in January (after the 1st). We are seasonal passholders and usually go the first weekend our passes are valid again and are still able to see the Osborne lights and Holiday Wishes in the MK. Has this changed?

It changes all the time.

They INTEND for the Osborne Lights to end most years between Jan. 1-5.

They INTEND for the Castle Ice/Dream Lights to end most years between Dec. 30 - Jan. 3 (depending on how the weekend days fall.)

They INTEND for Holiday Wishes to end most years between Dec. 30 - Jan. 3 (depending on how the weekend days fall.)

What has happened/is happening (in various combinations) in recent years is:

A- Freak cold snaps that caused Disney to just extend certain Holiday Happenings up through Jan. 10-12, or so.

B- Local school schedules that added/are adding an extra week of holiday break (rather than begin within a day or two of Jan. 1st.)

So, you can't count on seeing the major holiday happenings past the announced dates...
but you MIGHT get to, anyway.

.

The end date is listed as Jan. 4th but that is a Friday. I just don't get why they wouldn't keep them up throughout that weekend.
I really hope they add days on to include the dates through that weekend at least.
We did them last year and they are A-Mazing!!

Thanks Robo! If the dates stay the same I'll be seeing the Osborne lights again this year.

This is one of the reasons why I love to go between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Can't wait for my son to see this!!

We'll be back in early Jan for the first time in a few years, and am excited to hear we may get a chance to see the Osborne lights before it closes.

Just a little side question if I may. Last time we saw Osborne Lights, maybe Dec 2008?, there were special '3-D' type glasses that we got because we were AP holders. Sound familiar? Anyone remember this? I guess I'm wondering if that's something they still do.....

Well, thanks in advance, and I hope you are all having a magical weekend!
:goodvibes

They haven't the last year or two.

Thanks, mesaboy2, I kind of doubted it, but it was a fun thing for sure. Actually, it was more fun letting everybody else wear them and see their laugh when they put them on.
We couldn't get more than a few feet at a time without someone asking about them, and it made it all the more fun to share them and just watch.

Phooey. We leave Nov. 9.

I did get to see them last year though.

This is my first time experiencing WDW at christmas! Im really excited about the light show since I've heard so many great things about it!

And my dad LOVES putting a lot of lights up for christmas! (We're always the brightest house on the block!) He'll get to experience this and I know he'll be impressed! (Perhaps it will lead to more trips during the holiday season!)

When does it snow during the Lights? once a night? every hour? I don't want to miss snow in Florida (even if it's fake)!! TIA

About every 15-20 min. all evening long.

About every 15-20 min. all evening long.

Yes, I can attest to that, and I hate it, but not for the reasons you would think. It is murder on nice camera lenses. I had to constantly turn it off, as shielding it from blowing bubbles was impossible.
