Anyone have any tips for me. I've been reading on other sites that there is a pre-show and long lines. I really want to do this, but want it to be a good experience for my family and kids ages 8 and 6 years old. Any advice would be great. I'm so excited to finally get to go at Christmas. EEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! :Pinkbounc

Pre show is just some light entertainment and then the lights are turned on. As for lines, you're walking just as if you were walking down the street in a neighborhood, so lines aren't a problem. My family would not miss this and are already looking forward to trip Thanksgiving 2006 as we love Osborne lights. You are given 3-D glasses that make some of the lights appear as moving angels, etc...Look for hidden Mickey's in the house windows. Have a wonderful time!

When we went last year we encountered a bottleneck to get in to where the lights were--the line snaked all the way up to the Great Movie Ride (I think). We did go right when it was starting so I think that was the issue. It took about 20 minutes or so to start moving. Once we got in to the lights area it was fine--it was crowded but not shoulder to shoulder crowded. The lights have a roped off walking path to keep you moving through and ensure that you will get to see everything. Streetmosphere performers were encouraging people to keep walking rather than standing around, but not in a pushy way. We really enjoyed the lights and are looking forward to seeing them again this year, we'll just go a little later in the evening and hopefully avoid that long line in the beginning.

Just FYI they did not have the 3-D glasses last year, I don't know if they are doing it this year.

I agree with Liamsaunt....we had a small bottleneck at the entrance but we happened to be standing near the front when they "flipped the switdh"! Totally cool. :cool1: AND last December there were no 3D glasses...

DH saved us seats for Fantasmic as we toured the lights. We will have to get back again at Christmas so he can see them!

Disney is always magical but Disney at Christmas is spectacular! Have a great trip!

For sure it is a must see and all you have to do is go anytime between 6 and
8 pm. I must correct another post......no 3-D glasses this year. Asked a CM for them and he said they don't do it anymore. The thing I liked was the added treat of falling snow while you are going down the street.

I saw the Osbourne Lights this last Friday night. No 3-D glasses, but what a spectacular display! Awesome!

am I right that there is no charge for the osbourne lights?
this is our first christmas trip:)

Nope...no charge. It comes with the price of admission into the park. We stood on the street near Muppets 3-D when the lights came on then made our way to an intersectection where you could see all the lights in all directions at the same time. (That will make sense when you get there) Before the lights came on, I asked a CM if it was going to snow when the lights came on. He looked up at the sky and said "Well, it snowed for 2 hours last night, and the weather looks about the same tonight, so I reckon we'll get some snow." (We actually had a blizzard as the wind kicked up pretty good at one point.) :rotfl2:
