So I just booked a last minute trip for DS and I to see the Osborne Lights before they are gone forever. His birthday (7) is tomorrow. We are leaving tomorrow and going to spend Tuesday in HS. Should I reserve the desert party? Like I said this is totally last minute so I haven't had the time I would normally spend on planning a trip. Any all all opinions are appreciated!! Any other tips on HS would be helpful too!

We really enjoyed the dessert party so I would do it

We liked it so much DH and I are going back next weekend and I'm thinking of booking the dinner party

What comes with the desert party? Is it like a desert and drink buffet? Do adult beverages cost extra?? What about the gift?

We are planning a family trip for next December so I thought I would get to see them then. I have never seen them so we are literally coming solely for this!

No charge for anything inside the party, including adult beverages

The gift is a folding fleece blanket. Nothing fancy but useful as an emergency car blanket or something to take to outdoor events when is cold

You'll either enjoy it or think it's way too expensive for what it is.

I personally think it's highly overpriced. You could buy more snacks for everyone and still enjoy the same view for much cheaper by opting not to do the dessert party.

The only dessert party that I thought might actually be close to being worth the money was the Star Wars dessert party during a Star Wars weekend. But that is only because they were up close to the stage show, without having to camp out in a spot for 2 hours prior. For shows like Wishes, Osborne lights, and Illuminations..I personally think it's way over priced.

Or you want to sit down and see them. That was the appeal to us. Unlike all other Dessert Parties, you can sit at this one. There are a few standing tables but majority are seated. That was worth the cost of admission for us right there. We had a very short trip and were at parks open to close so by evening, we were beat and seating was very huge.

Even better was how much better the desserts were at this party than they were at either the Frozen party or the Star Wars Party. At least we ate some this time. I threw away all the ones at the Frozen party. Star Wars had decent options. Osborne Lights options were wonderful.

I've got the dinner party booked on January 3. I'm thinking I had better keep it.

Thanks. I'm thinking of booking the dinner party for the 3rd also. I would have to give up Ohana... which i love. But I am a bit worried about the crowds otherwise.

I figure we have to eat dinner anyway. We'd probably pay near to $100 to eat/drink. QS at HS is just poor, if not outright bad so I'm really thinking I want to book it too. Though DH says he is find without it. I don't think he's considered we need to eat somewhere.

So, it is suppose to rain the night of the 3rd. I understand the dinner will be moved indoors- will we still have a private viewing area to stand in to see the lights when we venture outside?

I read a report from someone who did the dessert party on a rainy night earlier this year
Now I can't remember what they did when they came back outside to the light area.
I'll have to search my watched threads and see if I can find it again

Luckily, it's way too far away for any prediction of rain to be accurate

really? it has consistently said that for the last week. That's hopeful then!

It's Florida, check back when you are a couple of days out.

I do not believe that in the event of rain, you still have the option for the seated area outside.
