We were thinking of seeing the Osborne lights on Thansgiving night. Then I noticed lots of people seem to thinking of doing that. So I thought of waiting until Friday or Saturday night. But would I then run into the weekend crowds? So figuring I have the option of Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, is any one of them much better (or at least less bad)? We'll also be there the night before Thanksgiving, but I don't know even if the lights are usually on then. Is that an option? Anyone who's seen them about that time, what's been your experience?

We haven't been since 2000, but, that year we had Thanksgiving dinner then went over to see the lights. There were quite a few people, but not so much that someone was bumping into you constantly. It was actually a nice time to go I think. That Friday/Sat, we didn't go to MGM, so I'm not sure about that, but Thurs wasn't bad.

We were there last Thanksgiving Day. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Prime Time 50's Cafe and did the lights. First, I would not worry about the crowds. Everyone moves about pretty well. I would say prepare to be in awe. They were so amazing. So, beautiful. It was even cold that night. You could have used a hat and gloves if you wanted. They had it snowing off the top of the buildings. After going through it, I guarantee you will go back other nights to see it again. They had a story board abut the Osbourne Family along the way. Stop and read it because it is a great story. I hope all of you enjoy it as much as we did. Maybe we will even see you there because we are planning on going at that time.

When do they open the Osbourne lights? Does it begin on Thanksgiving evening or earlier?

The way they have the traffic flow, I wouldn't worry either. We went two different nights. Both had a lot of people, but we still got some great photo ops while there. We made our christmas family card from one of those shots. We offered to help other families take pictures, and they returned the favor. Kind of nice to have all 4 of family in shots, not just 3 out of 4. I would not worry about any certain day. It seemed the later we went the crowds did die off.

You're going to run into crowds that whole time frame. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day this year and left the following Wed. It was a zoo until Sunday night. We did Osborne just before MGM closed. Fantasmic hadn't let out yet, so we hustled over to the Lights and it was pretty uncrowded for about 10 minutes. Then, when Fantasmic ended, all those people came over. So, we got to do the first half before it got really busy. But it was really crowded as we were leaving the area.

So, you might want to time your visit for a time when Fantasmic is showing.

I saw it a day or two before Thanksgiving and it's crowded to say the least. Once you're in the area to view the lights, you don't notice because you're looking at the lights, but the line to enter the lights can be long.
