I read on Josh's site that the Osborne light show actually stay on for an hour after official park closing. Does anyone have any experience with this?

We have been trying to get a Fantamic Dining Package reservation at Mama Melrose's (two of my daughter's must dos) for some time and have came up with an alternate strategy that I think might work. Can someone comment if this is do-able?

1. Fantasmic at 6:30 with Fast Pass
2. Dinner at Mama Melrose's at 7:50
3. Stroll through Osborne Lights after dinner

I had considered trying to see the lights before dinner and after Fanstasmic, but I feel that it may be too rushed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes!:) They stay on for that hour after park closing. We once went to the first two Fantasmics one night and then to Osborne Lights and stayed there until our DD was completely finished with the 3rd Fant that night which began 1/2 hour after park closing. It was nice walking through a very empty Osborne Lights and then Hollywood Blvd.

Yes they were on for at least an hour last year, full song and snow show. They got very crowded as soon as fantasmic let out for the night but it was doable. I was worried they'd shut them off early for some reason that night too, but nope!

Yes that would work. I've read some of your other posts regarding the Fantasmic Dining Package during Thanksgiving week. If DHS follows the same pattern as last year, its hours were extended to 10 PM closing so you would have plenty of time after dinner to enjoy the Osborne Lights. They also added a second Fantasmic at 8 PM for the same nights.

I agree with everyone that, historically.they have left them on for an hour after regular Park "closing".:)

On PM EMH nights, however, they turn them off immediately at the end of PM EMH.:)

Do they continue selling hot chocolate and all that during the hour post close? And if attending Fantasmic from 7:00-7:30 how long does it take to get through the crowds and back up there? Thinking of going for the last night of the season (1/4/15). Do the cast members direct people away from going back up to the lights after official park close time?

By some great bit of luck we were able to get a FDP and will not need the outlined strategy. I still hope this helps those that do not get the package.

All merchandise and food outlets close when the park is officially closed. It will probably take at least 15 minutes or more to unload from Fantasmic and then make it back to the lights. You won't be discouraged from making your way back there.

Fantasmics Show will be over by about 7:15 correct, if it is a 6:30 pm show in December?

Am I correct that the Osborne Lights does not start at a certain time, but is "ongoing" at Hollywood Studios and is on for 1 hour after closing?

THANKS!

CANNOT WAIT to see the Osborne Lights Show, first time!:):santa::woohoo:

The Lights will be turned on by 6:00 in December. Fantasmic is an almost 30 minute show so by 7:15 you should be out of the amphitheater. You'll have plenty of time to view the Lights after Fantasmic,

Is seeing the lights turned for the day worth going to a later Fantasmic to see?

Originally it seemed that 6:30 was the last Fantasmic Show for some Dec. dates...It doesn't matter as far as seeing the Osbborne Lights at 7:00PM as it will be dark after the show by 7:00 anyway that time of year...FYI, in case you are interested, thought I read somewhere that there were some 8:00PM shows added!

Can't wait for Dec!:thumbsup2:cheer2:

What time does the Osborne Lights start each night? I have read Dusk but i was looking for a more specific time?

Read somewhere Lights are on at 6:00 till 1 Hour After Park Official Closing.
CAN'T WAIT!:santa::banana: Enjoy!:)

I was surprised to see they added an 8pm show on Dec 4th, a night we planned on being at DHS.

So, if you attend the 8pm show, can you still see the Osbourne light afterward? Is 30 minutes enough time to get out of Fantasmic and stroll the Osbourne Lights?

Just to make sure, are the lights still on 1 hr past park closing? Is it the full deal, meaning the snow and songs?
Thanks!!

Our Fantasmics Show was at 6:30. By the time we made it over to the Osborne Lights, it was probably around 7:30. Double check, but I heard they were on, 1 hr after closing!
So GREAT! The lights were AMAZING synchronized to music! SO FESTIVE!:dance3::santa::santa: ENJOY!:)
