exactly. They're hoping a little disillusion might make a difference with some of his followers. Currently he's a martyr, they're hoping to chip away at that.

ummm...I don't remember saying it was silly... I was asking why...I have been home sick all day today and had the TV on and heard this over and over againand wondered why I really needed to know.
To those that answered my question...thank you...my medicated head thanks you to for explaining, that does make sense and something I was not thinking of.

I was watching a documentary about 9/11 on National Geographic last week and it was touched upon that the hijackers rented adult movies in their hotel room the night before. When I first read it my response was "And I care because?" Then I realized, like a PP said, that that information could help deter any of those who may follow him based on his religious dedication. It may only be one less person, but that is still one less person that is willing to help further terrorism.

I've always found them to be incredibly hypocritical anyway... the strip clubs and now this go right along w/ it all... they hate that we have no "values" and how our sexuality is right out there (as opposed to how their women are covered, etc). But one of the "prizes" for dying while trying to kill us, the evil sexual ones, is 72(?) VIRGINS. What exactly are these virgins for?!??? To have tea with? To go bowling with? NO, for S##!!! It was strange tome because they had covered up a picture of a woman that was hanging in the motel room (property of the motel). Seems like it was a painting of a Spanish looking woman--they either covered the whole picture or turned it around but either way, they didn't want to see THAT woman.

Think of it this way. If someone is preaching what we want to hear, we're going to give them allowances for their mistakes - you see it all the time with politicians and religious leaders. The propaganda that's being floated out there now is meant to sway the "independent voters" so to speak.
