I agree that the post about "baby killers' is way over the top. An apology is in order.

After rereading my previous post, I agree that that comment was a bit over the top; but I will not back down on the fact that countless numbers of innocent children are being killed in Iraq to support Dumbya. (Not just children actually, adults that have nothing to do with supporting either side).

Sorry if I offended anyone by the 'baby killer' comment, but, at the moment I was just calling a spade a spade with regards to my feelings on the needless war. We all don't agree on this war, that is a given, but I refuse to toot my own horn on how I send cookies and whatnot to people I don't believe should be there to begin with.

Pride and justification are just words that can be manipulated to suit a specific situation based on the person evaluating it. It's a tomAto/tomato issue really.

WOW! I couldn't fathom the thought of my child dying, but, I can not speak for others, so I commend your ability to send your child off to war.

Just please do us all a favor and not whine on this board when the inevitable happens; as those of us who enjoy our children do not wish them to be sent off to be killed for ridiculous reasons.

I would LOVE to understand your justification of being ok with your child being sent off to be killed, but, for the life of me, I cannot. You have now crossed over the line between rational and irrational to me. I used to think that you were just a harmless Dumbya supporter, and even offered jokes to quell the situation; but now I find your ability to be ok with the death of a child repulsive. I wish you and your family well. Darwin knows you will need it. (I would say "god knows", but, alas, I also don't believe in a false being, and although Darwin did not create man, he gave us the insight to understand how it all started)

I actually study psychology, so please do not attempt to validate yourself with your personal attacks on my inability to fathom the rationale behind allowing children to be murdered. It's called "displacement"..Freud coined the term. Perhaps you should study some before you accuse others, as your accusations are nothing more than manifestations of your own internal feelings of self doubt.I truly hope that your child does not face any harm, as I would not wish that upon any child; but, your acceptance of placing him in harms way is not beneficial to the child.

Having said that:

For this particular military action I strongly advocate those that support Bu$h and the war in Iraq to be the ones doing the fighting. If your convictions are that strong then by all means make sure your children are the ones that are on the front line. I would also urge you and your husband to enlist as well. It is only fitting that those that support the invasion of Iraq be the ones that bear the heaviest load. I have long encouraged others on this board to make the same committment. I'm happy to see that there is someone finally willing to step up to the plate and put their money where their mouth is.

Other than one inexcusable comment, no one thinks shipping donations that others have made to the troops is somehow a bad thing or that it's being done for the the wrong reasons. You need to read up on the mess in Iraq before we got there, despite Michael Moore's "kiteflying" clips. Saddam created the mess; we are cleaning it up. Things are truly improving for the people in Iraq -- and MANY have thanked us.
