There is nothing wrong with pin trading. But there is something wrong when people feel the mere act of selling pins is a substitute for genuine creativity and a substitute for a genuine attempt to please an audience.
Pin Trading isn't substituting anything. It's somting to do. I personnally don't do it, but there are thousands of pin trading enthusiasts. It's just another thing added to the hundreds of things to do at WDW.
There will be loads of Mickey Mouse tees shirts where the mouse acts as a corporate logo; but so little has been done with Mickey the Character that he has about as much emotional impact on children as does Ronald McDonald.
Hmm, well lets see here. I don't know if you're familliar with Fantasmic which stars who? Oh yeah Mickey Mouse! Plus there's the House of Mouse cartoon show on ABC staring who? Mickey Mouse! There's Mickey's Toon Town Fair in MK, and Camp Minnie-Mickey in AK. Plus a rumored attraction going in to MK starring yours truly, Mickey Mouse. I don't know how you can say that little has been done with Mickey.
