We are sailing out of FL next year, but we would like to do a few days in the park first - what's the best way to get from Orlando to the cruise ship?

I've rented a car and driven. It's about a 3.5 hour drive (can be more in traffic). I like that option personally as I feel I have a bit more control.

The Brightline train may be an option since they have service from Ft Lauderdale to Orlando. You will have to Uber/rideshare your way from both stations (WDW in the Orlando part and your cruise port when you get to Fort Lauderdale).

or they could mears to the airport if needed! But that is just trying to save money :) and wasting time :)

I used Brightline in Feb (and would totally use it again)

Brightline is a good option, I have also taken a quick flight on SWA to FLL, and there is always rent a car and drive. Sign up on the brightline website and you will get sent coupon codes to book periodically and it just my work for your dates.
