Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

Y'Tink,,,, I was pretty invisible this trip,, no Indy show, and not even a screen shot or two in Monster's INC.!
Unless I'm not thinking of something right now, that's what I need a Smidgy for, right now I'm beyond tired and so maytbe I was in something else.

Also, when Nebo wrote that he didn't read porn, aside from thinking "Well, no, you read erotica." I did a double take to make sure I didn't actually typo Pern.

How wierd will Nebo and Smidgy feel passing by the smoking areas in Uni?

Ruth, it felt VERY weird, to the point I was startinag to scare smidghy that I might take it up again!

How many times will Smidgy ALMOST ride FJ?

That's another great qu3estion ,,, yeah, she thunked it, more than once I know,,,, but of all people, I, I, I, was the one to say, "nope, don't do it."

Ohhh, I'm picturing a Sonny and Cher duet, "I got you babe":lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I can't TELL you how many times wh did that song in our early karaoke days.
Man,,,
she made a great Sonny!

I should get to do it because I don't have to worry about losing my job while I'm gone helping the cause. I am currently unemployed, so I'll take one for the team and help Nebo. :thumbsup2

Um, I don't think I like this post.
Marie? Does this mean you got laid off? I'm sorry.

I can give you a Nebo update from the park. Unlike Nebo, I have a way of staying connected to the Dis.

Well, I do too! :snooty:
It's called Thumper Man and his Traveling DisPhone.
so there

Ponzi, great work on the Cross dressing Dragon. That song has Always made me cry, young or old,,, and now, after reading your satire,,,,,,well, let me just say the "tears are flowin'".

Nah. I need a jumping off point.

And don't say a short pier!

You know, the more I'm getting caught up here,
Long piers work for me just as well too, maybe even better!

Oh yeah,,, funniest thing.
I found this thread in my control panel,,,,, and ,,, just for the heck of it,,,, hit on "who posted".

yup

Nebo,,,,,,,,,,,,,8 posts.

Pkondz,,,,,,,,,,,42 posts!

What? Have you been slacking off? Too much work?
I figured you'd have cleared a hundred by now!

Why is there no amoking going on today?

:jumping1:

Ok, now I know I'm way overtireed,, but I really like that line, and Kitty spelled it correctly, as in Star Trek episode fashion, not "amuck". atta girl!

Everyday I read books like Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? Nursery Rhymes, popular Children's stories, wish I had spare time to read for pleasure.

I guess the Nebo Follies counts?

OMG, I read Brown Bear to my niece and nephews so many times I think I have it memorized. My Mom made them a Brown Bear quilt to go along with the book. :)

Jill in CO

Ok, ok, I'll read it allready! But it had just better be as good as Go Dog Go! That one was a real page turner for me! We both read it aloud on our Honeymoon night.
Together.

"Do you like my hat?"

I've been reading "The Adventures of Nebo." It's about this guy Steve and his wife Diane whom they call Smidgy. Short Non-Fiction stories about their trips to Walt Disney World. Something is always happening to the poor guy and he always lands up getting hurt. If it wasn't for his wife, the poor guy would probably be dead by now. Really good reading.

Wow, this sounds really good. Where can I BUY,,,,,,,,,,,,a copy of this Elmo book?:

Hey kids, please excuse me if I don't comment on your post, but believe me, I have read them all,,,, welll,,, ok,,, I'm still in the process of that, but like I said, I'm reading some, and making comments on some, that's my agenda.

I keep trying to go to bed right now,, but I make the mistake of reading ONE MORE POST,,,,and I know if I don't say something stupid now, I might never say something stupid concerning that post,,,,,,,,and we would'nt want that, right?

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It is about a girl fighting cancer who finds a new life she never thought she would have. It was an amazing book.

Y-Tink,,,, that sounds similar to a book I read quite a while ago,,, name Joni, I believe.. SHe hit her head diving and ended up a quadrapeligic, as a young teenager,, but her friends, family, and faith in God pulled her through, and it was DEFINTATELY great reading.

I love the Harry Bosch series. I just recently started on them, only read a few so far, I'm waiting to get a couple of others next payday.

I just finished listening to Stephen Kings, 11-22-63. That was really good.

How strange Lady H,,, I just saw you, and the next, very next day, I started reading the actual book,,, that Smidgy kept yelli9ng at me about cuz it weighed so much to bring with,,, that Stefan King book. She loved it, sounds like kyou loved it too. You had better be right, I know what state you live in now!

Nah. I don't buy it. Nobody's that unlucky. If you're going to write fiction, at least make it believable. :rolleyes1:

I have told Smidgy that exact same thing, but these are the scripts she keeps handing me! WHAT CAN A GUY DO?

As for reading, I've just re-read three Larry Niven books. Why? 'Cause he's great, of course.

I have to say, one of the biggest disappointments in my reading ventures was hiw "Footfall". It came after the Hammer, and I was so excited to pick it up,,, and,,, well,,,,,,,,oh well.. DId you read 11/22/63? What did you think?

Ok, c'mon, how 'bout it, let's all put our collective hands together for Ponzi and the magnificent job he has done this last week and give him the Clap!
Ponzi, really and truly,
great stuff. I had a couple of good "get even" lines backed up in my repartoire, but they would only make ME look like the bad guy. It really was a shame you weren't with us sharing time with the Thumps and SisThump, she is also a real cutie.

Funny, Ponzi!

Can't wait to see how the real story turns out in comparison.

Oh c'mon Marita! You KNOW this is the real story. Did you still
really think there was a Ponzi?
The similarities haven't given it away by now?
But okay, if it still works, I'll keep playing the game.

"Nice job there Ponzi, it was almost as if you were "right there" with us!>

nice work my friend

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Like you figure out how to post from out side your upstairs computer room!

:rotfl::rotfl:

Nebo has a smart phone?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:)

Thanks for the laugh and :welcome: back! HOpe you had a great time!

A lot Barbie. It seems,,,, ahem,,,, according to "HER", that I snored a lot this trip. When I saw her at 3 in the morning hooking up the pendulum over my bed I could see that she was starting to totally lose it.

Too bad. That's really the pits.

(That might have been a little too obscure for the younger set.)

there was a moment when I was lying on my back looking up at an octegenarian woman asking me if I was allright. Nope, not making that up, happened right after we left the Thumpers.

popcorn::

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I can't TELL you how many times wh did that song in our early karaoke days.
Man,,,
she made a great Sonny!

:lmao:

Ponzi, great work on the Cross dressing Dragon. That song has Always made me cry, young or old,,, and now, after reading your satire,,,,,,well, let me just say the "tears are flowin'".

Ah. Nice to see we have something in common. You're writing style brings a tear to my eye as well.

You know, the more I'm getting caught up here,
Long piers work for me just as well too, maybe even better!

It appears that way.

Hmmm.... Does that mean that all New Yorkers are magicians? Every time they take someone to Pier 86 and are asked, "What's that?" They answer, "Dis a pier."

I obviously didn't get enough sleep last night.

Honestly? Too much work. I slacked off there a bit at the beginning...

I'll try better next time.

Wow, this sounds really good. Where can I BUY,,,,,,,,,,,,a copy of this Elmo book?:

Ummm.... you may not want to refer to it as an Elmo book, considering recent developments.

I know if I don't say something stupid now, I might never say something stupid concerning that post,,,,,,,,and we would'nt want that, right?

Right! But not to worry, we never underestimate your capacity for saying something stupid.

:rotfl: Look who's talking!

I have to say, one of the biggest disappointments in my reading ventures was hiw "Footfall". It came after the Hammer, and I was so excited to pick it up,,, and,,, well,,,,,,,,oh well.. DId you read 11/22/63? What did you think?

I picked it up again not too long ago and enjoyed it more after distancing myself from Hammer. But no, it's not as good.

I did read 11/22/63 (and does anyone else wonder if the grassy knoll documents will be released next November?) and liked it. It does get a little long in spots but over all, (especially as you get more into it) I thought it was a real page turner.

As opposed to Tina or Ike.

Oh c'mon Marita! You KNOW this is the real story. Did you still
really think there was a Ponzi?
The similarities haven't given it away by now?
But okay, if it still works, I'll keep playing the game.

If people hadn't met you yet, I would make a case that there's never been a Nebo or Smidgy and I made you both up.

Glad to have you back, safe and sound, on your own TR.

Can't wait to hear more!!:)

:welcome: Back!

Hope you had a wonderful trip, can't wait to hear all about it

Welcome back, Nebo & Smidgy!! Let the hilarity continue. :happytv:

Too bad. That's really the pits.

(That might have been a little too obscure for the younger set.)

Hey Poe, careful where you swing that pendulum!!
Obviously, I'm not among the younger set. :rolleyes1

Yes, I'm still plodding my way through this, up to page 11 now.

Sure I did, you just have to look a little closer. Here, let me highlight for you...

See??

Ok, how long did it take you to find Monica's name in a sentance that way? I TOLD you typos can come in handy!
So when do adoring fans run up to me to have their picture taken?

Alert alert. We have A Nebo sighting. Will approach with caution as to not to spook it away.

:happytv: Well thank you Marlin Perkins.

And very elusive. They snuck out when we weren't looking. That's ok. About an hour before our meet.

i told you, we are the masters of theme park escapes, after training extensively after the Illuminations runs, leaving the Nemo theatre is child's play.

Since it's your first report and all, and you'll probably have very few visitors and even fewer comments, I'll take pity on you and subscribe.

Yeah right!!! LOL!!!
:rotfl:

~Dawn

Thanks Dawn, I was wondering what a Ponzi has to do to get some readers around here!

We had lunch with Nebo and Smidgy today :) I'm happy to report the rash is much better. Unfortunately I did not take a picture at lunch (they did). I did take a picture tonight at the studios in their honor

P1020994.jpg

It was an honor to meet them!

Steph, puh-LEASE! The word honor and my name are/must, never be used in the same sentance, it's just wrong.
But you have a great family, little Jackson is the cutest boy kid I think I have ever seen.
EVER! And so well behaved.
At least he was more 'haved then I was that day, and I can't believe you kept what I did in, that had to be killing you not to tell them all how stupid I was!

Nebos and doctors don't mix.

My first memories of our "family" doctor came when I was not quite 3, stitching up my eyebrow when I pushed up the "safety" bar on the baby swings at the park resulting in my Superman impression that resulted in meeting Dr. De Sade. And ever since then,,,,,,,,,
He was the same guy who 16 years later gave me a rag to bite down on when he lanced my Piloneidal Cyst and I passsed out from the incredible amount of pain trying to get to the john to throw up.

But my parents liked him. :confused3

Someone please come over here and write this paper for me. I can't babble anymore, 12 pages should be enough to prove I got what it takes????

2 days left to fine tune it.

5 days left before I walk.

Then I have to design a web page backing all what I wrote with proof! :faint: for my exit interview.

Ok, almost there, you are just getting jittery with the end so close now. Deep breath, exhale, you've faced tougher challenges than this in the last 5 years, just put it in D for "Do it" and away we go!
Wish we could be there to see you accept the diploma!

Wow, Mony you have to do a webpage?

I took an HTML course years agon online, I put some website stuff together just for fun, but forgot most of it by now (except stuff like [ quote] and [ /quote]. I know there are easier ways now, but I have no clue (nor need or desire)

Believe it or not, there was a time when I was the "high Tech" guy amongst our/my, group of friends. The first one to get a home video game system, ( the Oddysey, Intellevision, Colecovision) the first one to get a home computer, ( the IBM PC Jr.), and I had actually gotten pretty good at learning all about DOS, even learned some basic Basic!

Then they took DOS out and shot it, and I lost interest in trying to keep up with "Progress".

In my day, we weren't even allowed calculator in accounting class because they were too expensive for everyone to afford. Im OLD, WAHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Hey, hey, knock it off! WE are really close in age you know.
Hey again, I feel a song coming on, I have to go find it.
It's a great old country song, and a song that is one of my very favorites to sing during a karaoke turn at the mike, i wonder if it's on YouTube.
To me it's just a cheery sounding song that gives getting
older a pat on the back if you know how to be glad for it, and not spend your time "dreading and worrying about it" .
And always remember, it's never too late to start tomorrow with a new change in attitude.
Heck, it's only a 3 minute song, let's see if I can find it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCHkeNqbBv8

Hope it worked, I'm forgetting how to do some of these things on the confuser again ,
but I did like that song a lot, which is weird cuz I'm not the biggest country music fan in the world.

You can do it! Almost there!!! :yay:

I actually had a webpage about 15 years ago. Don't remember anything about creating web pages now!

Absconding web sites doesn't count?
If only Monica could change her name to Charlotte, then it would be a piece of cake to come up with a clever Web Page, don't you think?

Plus I'm sure it's completely different now, too.

Thanks Shan. :goodvibes

Um, I don't think I like this post.
Marie? Does this mean you got laid off? I'm sorry.

I got laid off from my awesome library job in March. Budget cuts. I've been looking for work and praying a lot.

However, if you need someone to chronicle your adventures while you are having them, I'm totally available. Don't even have to take time off work....:rotfl:

Absconding web sites doesn't count?

Right! Then she could bring home the bacon.

Oh, it's been hard not to share it, but I want to hear you tell it ;)
My whole family has fallen in love with Jackson, he is such a sweetheart! And we love his daddy because he puts up with my daughter :rolleyes1

And, it was indeed an honor! You know, you're the first diser I have actually met in person.

And for the record, Nebo's pre trip babbling is as long as my entire TR!

raspberry2.gif

Hey little lady, don't look at me, I was occupied in another state. It's the Canada Dry mouth up there that keeps on a babbling!

<sigh> Now I'm not allowed to read this Trip Report Report at night.

I've woken up the entire house with laughter :lmao:

Thank you, Pkondz...........

Mousemom, glad to see you still sticking around, I guess The Ponz has some uses after all.

Congrats on getting the paper done, just in time to stress out about Christmas!!!

YOU, my dear,
are evil!

Woot to the woot!

Jill in CO

Woot squared?

:rotfl2: That is true........beating a dead horse here because I care so much, but not all men know the lyrics to Katy Perry songs! ;)

I remember standing in Ponzi's corner, applauding his behavior all in the name of family sacrifice/commitments, and generally being the Dad that all men should be.

Is it too late to rescind that sentiment?

:rotfl2: Great, I laughed so hard I woke DD!! Oh well, it's DH's turn anyway!!;)

Hold it! Isn't he getting up early to go to work in the morning? I'm assuming you are off for a while, right? And this is where I'm better off shutting up, right? :lmao:
But Dee Dee, she really does look beautiful, the most important thing though that is missing is the happy, smiling, contented mommy sitting there holding the brand spanking new miracle on earth!

(hey, Wallmart's had a sale on adjectives)

Buzz, what a beautiful baby. Congrats!
And hanging out in PJ's is one of the joys of life, so YAY!

Allrighty now, am I the only one that thinks maybe that second line from our lovely Backstage Gal could maybe use a re-write?

Oh my word Pkondz!! This is a work of art! But you know there is a distinct difference.....you had to think and work to do what comes naturally to Nebo! ;)

Hmm, that's a good one.
Ponzi, one of us were just insulted up there, of that I have no doubt, but I'm not sure if it was you or me!

Seriously, I love bumming the day away in my pjs. Anything but that is the pits when you are def-con 7 sleep deprived. My posts may start to resemble Nebo's soon! ;)

Ok Ponzi, I DO believe I am getting a handle on which one of us it is. :sad2:

I'm a long time lurker that has read all of the previous trip reports. I just wanted to say that I hope Nebo and Smidgy are having a great time and that their trip is fun and pain free.

Ponzi, love love love your version of the story so far :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have started and stopped in the middle of multi quoting that I have no idea what I 've done, thought about doing, thought about not doing, thought about being done with answering, did the typing, didn't do the typing,, yeah,, I'm a mess right now, so I'm double calling out the call outs.

It's still call outs I guess, but with an echo effect!

What I loved about the new update, Pkondz, was the disappearing, reappearing mustache. Ninja-stache: just when you know where it is... it suddenly isn't!!

Let's see,,,, the last trip I DIDN'T have a soup strainer, was the ill fated hurricane trip to BLT, AK and CBR in September of '11, when Diane's Dad passed away.
When we got back, not too much longer I grew it back, and kept it till now.

If it still held the original color like it had when we took that Six Flaggs dress up picture as Civil War Rebels, I'd probably still have had it all this time. But this presently whitish/grey, or is it a greyish/white, doesn't do much for me, so I keep on knocking it off with a weed whacker now and then. Really doesn't matter, it comes right back anyway.

But seriously, I hope he can get to see at least a little of HPFJ...it's pretty darn dark in there!

Jiminy Crickets, you aren't kidding at all on that one, that's for sure. We'll get to it.

:rotfl: I was hoping nobody'd notice that!

I've heard it was pretty dark. Didn't he say it was open later so he might be able to go when it's dark outside so he could see inside?

Yes he did say that, and I did all that I possibly could!

Ponzi,
Your writing as Nebo is fab - just the right amount for typos and commas.
I am enjoying reading your TR. I think you have nailed the Nebostyle -
keep up the good work !
:rotfl2:

But but but, didn't I do a good job nailing down the Nebo style? I really tried very hard for many years now getting it correct.

Hey, tropic for a moment:
I know a few of you out there have read Stevie King's last book, 11/22/63, and I JUST started it. So what's the consensus? these pages are HUGE in their own rights and still it's over 850 pages anyway! I'm on page 15.

Is it another Stand?
or a clunker like "From a Buick 8", or another weightless corraboration with another famous auther, like he did with Peter Straub/Strausse,,,,and i can't tell you if I would put myself through that crap again

No doubt, for a long time Ol' Stevie was my favorite author and turned many friends and co workers onto him back in the mid '70's when I stumbled across Carrie White and her dirty pillows, that then turned into probably the most suspenseful, scary book ever written in the world of fiction, The Shining.

I read that book first in May/ '78
She then read it in June/ '78

also known as,,,,,,, our Honeymoon.

But clinkers certainly did come,,,, Buick 8 was one.
So was Talisman with Peter Straub/Strauss,,, yeah, I get the author and actor mixed up all the time. One starred with Cany Bergen in a very controversial movie in the late sixties that was banned from many, many cities and parishes and communities,,, named
Soldier Blue!

And it wasn't that risque.

:rotfl2:great job ponzi! hope t-man or nebo catch site of the dragon and post a video or pic.

Bets, I'm sorry, we did not even HEAR about the Braggin Dragon until our buts were draggin and spirits saggin' when we got back home to our wagon

And for the record, Nebo's pre trip babbling is as long as my entire TR!

raspberry2.gif

Isn't this where I came in?
Check please?
