Orlando Sentinel reports Transformers coming to Universal Orlando

The abandoned building you're talking about is Stage 54 which is currently being used as storage and the Donkey M & G across from Shrek.

It was also used as the Horror Nights Nightmares house for HHN in 2004...my first year.

Having grown up with Transformers when I was in my teens, the thought of a Transformers ride excites me. However, I do not want it if it replaces a current attraction.

Previous rumors that cropped up also had it on the US side. Personally, I'm a little excited. I haven't seen the Transformers movies, but done well it could make a great ride.

However, I'm not crazy about another Spider-Man ride. Enough with the 3-D glasses, I don't want to wear them on a ride...

Trust me, if you'd seen either of the last two Transformers movies, you wouldn't be excited. God, those movies are dreadful...

But...a ride might be interesting. Maybe.

As a Transformers nerd, although I was extremely disappointed in the second movie, the first and third were good.

Ugh, the third Transformers was as bad as the second one. It was 90 minutes of incomprehensible garbage followed by 60 minutes of an equally incomprehensible battle sequence.

The first movie was fun. The rest seemed like they were written by obnoxious 13-year-old boys on a sugar high.

But again...a ride might be fun. :thumbsup2

Spielberg has threatened Universal to the extent that they would never dare remove E.T. from Orlando. They did remove it from Hollywood and Japan and replaced it with superior rides BY FAR (ROTM and Space Fantasy) and they cheesed off Spielberg to an extent that he signed his first ever contract with Disney shortly after.

But regarding Transformers, it is designed to bring in crowds to USF and make the resort a 2-park resort FOR ALL VISITORS, rather than just IOA for WWoHP.

USF has ROTM, HRRR, MIB, Simpsons, ET, Jaws, and that's about it. Nothing else is relevant in the slightest.

Disaster, Dispicable Me (lol not opened yet but come on, the simulator tech is older than Simpsons), Terminator... all of these need to be replaced with more modern and meaningful attractions.

But you know what? The best place for Transformers I say is in the location of that stage building at the back of the park between Amity and MIB (forget what it is now lol). Get rid of it and build a new building. The area is big enough, and then 3 major attractions will be side by side.

Then please incorporate Middle-Earth based on The Hobbit movies for around 2015.

Then USF would be virtually equal to IOA - notwithstanding IOA's WWoHP phase 2 plans to coincide with Avatar at Disney's AK!

They can't get rid of that stage. They need it for Bill & Ted at HHN!! :rotfl:
