Do you think with the announcement of EPV and the amount of point inventory that will come with a 600 room (360 room first phase) will keep the dollars per point from reaching $100?
I can see were Disney might raise VWL to $78 or $80 to slow sales down just enough so they can get BCV open. With the location of BCV Disney might raise it to $82 or $85.
IMHO I think $100+ is possible. In the past year the price has gone up 12% from $67 to $75. The projected opening of the new DVC resort is mid-2004. A 12% increase per year over the next three years would put the price at $105. If inflation kicks in, we might even see a steeper rise.
The resort also looks like it will be quite luxurious and will include hotel facilities so it will not be inexpensive to build. I would love to be wrong on this one but it's not that outrageous when you look at the increase over time.
I agree with Pam. It is possible that the new resort reaches the $100/pt mark by 2004 at the rate the prices have been going. However, I doubt that will happen with BCV. $80-$85 would seem reasonable to me. I hope that is the case.
Thanks for the link! The drawing of the hotel looks great! Definitely a Mizner-Mediterranean revival influence, similar to architecture in the West Palm to Miami area. It actually reminds me very much of the Vinoy in St Pete, FL. I bet the Inn will attract a lot of golfers, too.
Thanks for the link Pam! I found it interesting that the article mentions that DVD expects the new resort to open at the time BCV and VWL are sold out (2004). Does anyone think BCV and VWL will be available for that long? With VWL over 1/2 sold already, I can't imagine BCV won't be sold out in 18 mos max.. That is of course pending any more economic downturns and high points pricing by Disney.
Dan and I have always loved Coronado and have said from the start if it had been a DVC resort we would have bought there.
If the point price is reasonable we will definitely be buying an add on at the new resort---if we don't move to Florida.
My only problem with the resort is it being near to MK--our least visited and least fave park. Will it be too far off the beaten path??
We love the location of BW and OKW.
Thanks for the link Pam. IMHO the resort design concepts look alot like the Marriott Grande Vista...same colors...same building design???? Anyone else see the similarities?
A little help on the location. I know it will be east of the Wilderness Campground and north of Dixie Landings (oops, Port Orleand Riverside). This would be the farthest golfcourse south, right ? ? Will this be to far away from Bay Lake for water transportation? ? Will everything be buses?
Niagra I haven't seen the Marriott but the Mizner style is quite common to find in Florida....the Breakers, Boca Raton Club, all are similar as well. Just like the Key West style they both scream FLORIDA to me (and I like that).
