And people didn't drop dead from it either, as was predicted... lol.

My prediction is masks will be around permanently in some form. Though not required as they are now in many places, but they will become a far more common thing in culture after this. Much as they have been for years in places in Asia etc... I know our province has already said that moving forward, even once things are back to "normal", masks will be required (by law) to be worn in public when you are sick/exhibiting symptoms. So, if you choose to go to work or grocery shopping etc... with your cold (etc...) you'll be required to wear a mask. Which to be honest, isn't necessarily a bad thing.

So then this makes me wonder, once things are "back to normal" (which we all know is not going to look like our old normal), do you think Disney will keep guest screening practices? Do you think moving forward they'll deny entry to those exhibiting symptoms/a fever? If not, will they require a mask if you have symptoms?

In the states I don't see any laws for wearing when sick, even Asia doesn't have that, they are just more trained to do so. People may choose to wear them more than they did before here. Maybe it will make people be more cautious when they are sick but even that will be short lived.

I also don't think they will do the screening because in the end with normal crowd levels not practical and really not every symptom is stemming from something contagious.

Yeah, I think masks will become more common like in Asia. It won't be a requirement so much as a courtesy, but we will continue to see them and not think it is odd.

As much as I don’t like this (I loathe wearing one), think you’re right—and I think it makes sense. And now that everyone has experienced seeing masks (and they’re easier to get), I don’t think people will fear being shunned for walking in some place wearing one.

Probably depends a bit where you are. I could see this as something in some areas it becomes much more common for people to wear them if they are feeling a bit sick or for allergies or whatever

And then other places view it as "being weak" and still are very anti-mask

LOL! Seriously? How do they possibly think that they will be able to enforce that?

Pretty easily honestly... I mean, it's pretty obvious when someone has a cold between the coughing, sneezing, snuffing, congested voice etc... So, if you display any symptoms, you'll be given the choice of putting one on or leaving the premises.

And how many of those people also just have allergies or other non contagious issues that cause coughing or sneezing or runny nose. Sorry that’s not gonna work real well
And cops sure don’t have time to respond to that person coughed and didn’t wear a mask.

DW travels almost weekly for work. I used to jab at her a little for flying with a KN95 long before this, but I’ve quietly moved into her camp that we’ll probably fly and ride share in them indefinitely going forward (don’t tell her she was right all along 🤣😉). Not theme parking or cruising in them once they’re dropped off the mandates, though.

Add me to the allergy club between my cats (but would rather deal with the allergies than the mice which are abundant living in rural america-yes we used traps and other things but once they get in it's a years long battle that doesn't end till you get a couple of good mousers in the form of cats. I have one that is mad at me because she has taken out all the mice not only on our property but the entire neighborhood as well), and different pollen seasons I am constantly stuffed up and sneezing. Worse is when it is barley harvest around here and the cottonwood is flying especially if we are also dealing with several wildfires-I hide in my house on those days and glare at anyone who dares leave the door open. In and out quickly people and get that door shut now.
