Help me, disboard friends, you are my only hope! :darth:

I am in uncharted waters for me, here, and if this is on the wrong board, I apologize in advance.

DH and I are coming down in November with my Dsis and her kids, possibly my parents. Given the group size, we are renting an offsite villa. This is a good choice for us based on our vacationing style (we love to cook, DH actually likes cleaning up the kitchen, etc.). Here is the place I need advice:

I inputted our dates and villa requirements to orlandovillas, and asked for emails of available properties for our dates with our requirements--well, I got 96 emails!! All different properties, all look nice. So....

Since they all seem to be part of "communities," if anyone has a recommend, or a negative, about a particular rental community, I'd love to hear it.

Any advice is much appreciated. I apologize if there are huge threads on this topic already, but I need to book soon, and just a simple recommend or pan will help me narrow my search.

Can I have your husband for a while I have a kitchen that could use him. LOL

They all have great things about them such as area, amenities, gated, more quiet, more lively, away from the park area, close to park area, it all depends what exactly you are looking for. A home closer gen. goes for a little higher price. Not always as I have seen on this board.

Here is a map of the rental communities.

Lots of decisions you need to make. Do you need a games room, spa, and so on. Do not make it a chore think of it as shopping from home. How many beds and baths is how I would start and go from there.

Our preference is Emerald Island we own so we are a little partial. They all are a great place to be together.

Thanks for your input! I am the sister Liamsaunt speaks of. Our family is definitely looking for a quiet, relaxing, retreat sort of place to call home for the week. Most of our time will be spent in the parks, so when we aren't there, we will want to relax, swim, maybe cook a little. Any other amenities are nice, but not completely necessary, although I am lobbying for air hockey. This is a Disney trip for us, so being close to the parks is a factor.

Any suggestions/avoid recommendations are appreciated!

My in laws have a week each year at Vacation Villas at Fantasy World
which is in Kissimmee but very close to the parks.

We have used their week - 3 times and have always been very happy.
