Has anyone attended an Orlando Magic basketball game while visiting Disney.
How did you find the drive, was the ticket prices fair, we will be 5 people hoping to catch a game February 25th. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Go Raptors Go:p

I have been to several Magic games and the TD Waterhouse Center (formerly the O-rena) is pretty easy to get to, just off I4 in downtown. It is about a 20/25-minute drive from WDW in non-peak times and the ticket prices have always seemed pretty good to me (better these days now games don't sell out so much as in the Shaq era). Look up www.ticketmaster.com for the latest tickets and availability.

Yeah, Ive seen a couple of Magic games, its great fun. The Orena as it was then is pretty easy to get to, as SimonV said, being close to I4. The arena is nice, and the in-game entertainment is great, I'd recommend going to a game if you can.

One of my few regrets is never having gotten to see His Airness - last time I went I missed a Bulls game by a day, even if I could have got tickets - Shaq and MJ on the same court, how cool would that have been ??

This time over in the US I'm hoping to get to see some baseball ! :D

Thanks guys for the info. Would you have any suggestion on seating, I am far from rich, but I will spend money so I can actually see the players faces;)

The tickets are actually a surprize for my sister in law, she is a huge basketball fan.

Again any info is greatly appreciated. Hope you are able to catch your ball game this time around.

Sorry Nancee, its been at least four years since I went to a game, all I can remember is that the tickets we had cost about 25 bucks a head including tax, and they were waaaaayyyyy up in the gods, but even so we had a good clear view down to the court. We just had to take tissues to deal with the nosebleeds... ;)

I'd guess courtside seats would be at least 3 times that, though I'd recommend contacting the arena direct for info. Sorry I cant help more Nancee.

Thanks BeeJayJay, any info is great. You guys are great just for giving me the info you did.

I think I could afford about $70.00 a ticket, (yikes american) thats about $1000.00 canadian ;)
I will make sure we have tissue. It would just be fun because we would be on a road trip and we are with people we love.

Thanks again

You're very welcome Nancee.

As I'm currently watching a webcast of baseball (Go Cardinals !), I just took a look at the Magics' website - this is the link to the ticket booking page. There's no booking yet for the new season for individual games, but its got the phone number for booking and should give you some info a little closer to the start of the hoops season :

Hope this helps ! :D

Thanks I have it book marked. I actually went on their sight and they will send me info as soon as tickets go on sale.

BeeJayJay are you from London England, or London Ontario?

I have been to London England two times and I absolutely love it there. When are you coming back to Disney, that must be quite the flight.

I'm in London, England Nancee - I'm your actual Cockney, born in the deepest East end of London !

I'm actually coming over in early September, to visit a friend in your neck of the woods Nancee - well Canada anyway ! ;) I've become good friends with a guy I met over the net while doing fantasy US sports. He is a native of Toronto but moved to Digby, near Halifax in Nova Scotia about a year ago, and has invited me to go and visit him and his wife. Where in Canada is Barrie ?

I'll be going on from there to the US, travelling about a while, California, Texas, maybe Missouri (I support the Cardinals and would love to see a ball game there if I have time) and then going on to meet up with my mum in NY - I'm treating her to a vacaction - and then we'll be going south to spend 2, maybe 3 weeks in Florida, probably around the second week in October.

I'd like to be there for my birthday on the 9th, and to hang around long enough to get to go to the Halloween nights at Disney and Universal. I've been before and they were a blast !! :D

The flight direct from the UK to Orlando is 8.5 to 9 hours depending on winds, and is just about bearable. As I'm going to Canada first, I'll probably fly into New York then on to Halifax. The flight to NY is about 6.5 hours, slightly better ! And fares from here to Halifax are just a bit high !!
