Hi all, we had a trip booked for May 2011 but as my son and his girlfriend are now expecting my 1st grandchild in June we had to change our plans. We have re-arranged and are now going Nov 28th to Dec 12th. Having only been in May we are wondering what we might hope to expect in Dec with weather and parks etc. We are staying in a villa so are unsure whether or not to pay for pool heating. Thanks :goodvibes

Not been early Dec but been 5 times at end of Dec. Expect anything, from around freezing point upto 80F, it can change from day to day. Some days we have had to de-ice the car other days in shorts & Tshirts right thru til midninght.
No expert on villa pools but I would expect its needed at that time of year.

If you goto www.wunderground.com use Zip 32830(DTD) then go halfway down there is a section "History & Almanac" it gives you an idea for past years.

if you want to swim in the villa pool you MUST heat it in december...
personally, i would get it heated from October, but it's an absolute necessity in December...unless you're a polar bear....

This past December we were there on the 4th when it was 60 degrees (15.5 c), 5th when it was 70 (21.1), 6th when it was 24 (-4.4) and 7th when it was 32 (0). The 6th also had brisk winds which made it feel a lot colder. All you can do is watch the 10-day weather forecasts and see how it is trending.

Great time to go, we've been this time in 2007 and 2009.

Weather can be mixed. 2007 was hot, 2009 mixed. Take layers and you will be fine.

We went in Dec 2009 some days it was really chilly, some days shorts and tshirts. I remember queing to see Santa and Mrs Claus with the kids in Epcot and we were all frozen!!! Just made it seem more like Christmas. We came back on the 23rd to really bad snow, took us longer to get back from Manchester airport than it did from Orlando and we only live 29 miles away!!! Would I do it again? Definitely to see the lights and MVMCP

Been twice that time 2006 got married, very hot but needed fleece some nights and 2008 which was a record high in the 80's.Like others have said its hit and miss.Less chance of rain but it can be chilly early morning and late evening. Lovely time to go it was my favorite until I went late september into october. Both great though.
