Good afternoon, we are a family of 3 travelling to Orlando for the first time in August. We are looking at buying a multi park ticket but to exclude Seaworld (my wife isn't too keen on this one)

Question, where would be the place to buy the tickets in the most manor and are fast pass a good idea at universal.

Has anyone got any tips? We were also thinking about taking pack lunches in with us to help save some money.

I see there are many purchase sites out there like attraction tickets direct etc

Many thanks in advance

undercovertourist and mapleleaftickets typically have the best deals on disney tickets (it's not a giant discount but they are legitimate). costco sometimes has good deals on universal tickets if you are a member there.

disney (wdw/epcot/animal kingdom/hollywood studios) and universal (universal studios/islands of adventure) are separate companies and their tickets will not overlap. (you cannot use disney tickets at universal and vice-versa.)

i would not recommend bagging lunches (especially in august - too hot) - leave the parks for a few hours and come back in the afternoon if you want to make your own lunches.

FastPass is free at the Disney Parks.

Universal's front-of-the-line access is called Express Pass (about $40 pp) and Express Unlimited Pass (about $60 pp). Before I would spend that kind of money on Express passes for a family, I would book a room at one of the 3 Universal hotels that offer free Express Unlimited for everyone staying in the room plus 1-hour early access to WWoHP before the parks open to the general public.
