Managed to book tickets to see Orlando City vs Chicago Fire at the Citrus Bowl whilst we are on our holidays this year :dancer: can't wait!

Orlando drew their first game of the season with a last minute equaliser courtesy of a trademark Kaka free-kick, they have subsequently won their first away game since. The quality of football was quite good, and the atmosphere at the Citrus Bowl was excellent, so really looking forward to it!

Just wondered if anyone else was planning to take in a game whilst you are over there? Just waiting for the NFL schedules to be advertised to see if I can fit in a Buccaneers game also! :cool2:

We have tickets vs LA Galaxy, we're looking forward to watching a 'soccer' game at the Citrus Bowl :) Been following OCSC for a while due to the Merseyside connection, pity Stevie G won't be playing for the Galaxy (I'm a red, DH a blue) but hopefully Robbie Keane will be playing. We will be supporting the Lions though as we've adopted them as our MLS team :goodvibes.

I think NFL starts later on in the year, not sure how long before they have pre-season games, maybe you'll get to watch one :)

The official start of the NFL season is Sept 10 but you might be able to find some pre-season games before that.

Just thought I would let you know about our match day experience at the Citrus Bowl a few weeks ago. We had a great time, so glad we booked tickets to see an MLS game. The stadium atmosphere was good, Orlando City won 4-0 against the LA Galaxy so there was plenty of ticker tape fired off when they scored.

We wore our club t shirts (Liverpool/Everton) and DD wore her Everton kit, this was a great way to break the ice and chat to other fans :) It was a very friendly experience, the fans were very good natured and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic - Saw the goals from this game and it looked an excellent atmosphere! Looking forward to sampling it myself!!

We're over there 27th sept for 2 weeks and are booking for Orlando vs Montreal ... Bought my Orlando shirt in January on the last trip

It certainly was! Hope you get to watch a good match too :)

One thing worth mentioning, I had on my backpack with our sun lotion, water, camera, hats etc and they initially refused entry at the gate. They said no bags were allowed into the stadium. After speaking to a supervisor and showing my contents I was eventually let in but I had to fold the backpack as small as I could and carry it inside the stadium and was told if anyone else queried, then to say it was essentials for 'the baby' - our DD is 8!.

Much to my shame, I've not really ventured too far from Disney/Universal - is there much to do near the stadium? Am hoping to find a bar where we can mix with the locals, and talk football!

As we didn't know the area (it's about 20 miles from CSR I think) we pre-booked a parking space in a street about a block from the stadium, so I can't help on the bar front sorry. If you are hoping to have a drink inside the stadium I would go about 5 mins before half time as the 'one speed' rule applies to the bar staff! I think I was fourth in my queue 2 mins before halftime and I just got served as the second half was starting! Beer was $8 for a regular sized can or $12 for a large can.

If you wear your club shirt or t-shirt you will have no problems talking football to the locals and ex-pats/holiday Brits :)
