Our flight will be landing in Orlando at 11:30 am. Does this give us sufficient time to get to the ship? I realize it won't depart until 5pm but I would hate to miss lunch, etc.

Thanks,

Are you taking the DIsney transport or you own transportation to DCL? I am not sure what the schedule is for the bus transport, but you may be able to catch a late lunch. I think the lunch close at 2PM/3PM?? I am sure someone will correct me.

If you are taking you own transportation to the port, just be aware that baggage may take a while. In all the times I have been to Oralando it has always taken me a while to get our bags.

DCL suggests that you arrive before noon...so you're in plenty of time there. With a flight arrival at 11:30, you should be on the bus by noon and at the port before 1. The lines seem to move quickly no matter what time you arrive. You might want to grab a quick snack at the airport as you won't see lunch till at least 1:30 - 2 pm, by which time the kids will be starved. There is a McDonald's at the airport. Just re-read your post...no kids...so you're ok.

If you use DCL transfers, they will handle all bags, etc.

If you booked your flight thru Disney, they will hold the ship if your plane is late. If you booked your own air, YOU are responsible for arriving at the port on time. This means that if your flight is late/cancelled, it is your problem.

Friday nite wedding? That would probably mean no way you can fly in on Friday evening. We really prefer to arrive in Orlando the evening before and stay at an airport area hotel (booked on Priceline for about $35 for 3*) It just gives us the added security of being in Orlando early...no worries about weather messing up flights, etc.

If the flight really arrives at 11:30 a.m., you will be fine. The risk comes from cancelled or delayed flights, and the possibility of missed connections.

Most airlines allow same-day standby flights (on the same airline), at no extra charge. As your travel date nears, you may want to ask your airline if they have an earlier flight and how it looks for standby.

Regarding lunch, on the Disney Magic, the Parrot Cay buffet lunch goes until 2:00 p.m., and the Topsider buffet lunch goes until 3:30 p.m.

I hope that you have arranged for a towncar, but if not, hopefully you'll get on a bus without having to wait (we haven't taken the bus in a long time, but back when we did, we would occasionally have to wait when one had filled and another was coming).
If your plane is on time and you get to the bus quickly and leave by 11:45, you should be at the port by 12:30 (of course, this is a best case scenario). It only takes about 45 mins. tops to get there. By then, most everyone will have boarded already so hopefully you'll pretty much walk right on after check-in. But if Palo or spa ressies start at 1 p.m., you run the risk of not getting prime times. You'll have plenty of time to eat after making ressies and before the drill.
