Orlando Airport

Does anyone know the status of the Orlando airport? Is it openor closed? Any info would be helpful.

Last heard, posted by Pigsty333 on the Cruise forum, her husband is on the cleanup crews at the MCO:

Hubby is still at work and called me to tell me that he won't be coming home until sometime tomorrow. He related that Orlando International Airport was flooded, heavy damage. The American Airlines Terminal Side roof had collapsed. He will let me know as soon as they tell them when the airport will reopen.

I just went on the "Official" website for the airport and this is what it says....

"Sunday flight activity suspended at Orlando International Airport due to Hurricane Jeanne "

Bracho, don't know if this link was available when you checked, but there is a link to some additional information (which has not been updated since 10:00 a.m.):

"Flight operations at Orlando International Airport are still suspended until the impact of weather conditions associated with Hurricane Jeanne pass. At this time, high winds and rain conditions prevent normal flight activity.

There are preliminary reports of damage that include water intrusions in the main terminal and airsides. At this time, maintenance and operations staffs are assessing the damage for a more complete evaluation of storm impact. Recovery and clean up operations will begin as soon as possible. As more information is available, updates will follow....

Everything I have seen/read says MCO should be open by noon today (monday).
