Since Vacation Express cancelled our October flight, I booked us a night earlier than expected. Our flight lands at 11:06 p.m., so I'm looking for a clean, cheap hotel by the airport for one night. We want a hotel shuttle to get us there. Next day, we'll have a towncar company pick us up to take us to BWV. All we need is a clean, cheap place to stay.

When I asked this question before our last trip, someone hooked us up with a deal at the Hampton Inn for $45. The hotel was lovely and the front desk couldn't believe our rate.

So, who can hook me up with a deal like this again?

I would suggest bidding on a 3* hotel in the MCO area on Priceline. They usually go for $40/night or less. All of the 3* hotels they book at in that area have complimentary shuttle service 24/7. They also are all hotels that cater to airline flight crews so the shuttles are very efficent.

They book at HI Select, the Marriott, the Renaissance and sometimes you get lucky and get the Hyatt right inside the airport (we got it last spring for $36/night!!) Occasionally the Sheraton Suites and the Crowne Plaza also come up in that area, but not too often. We have stayed at one time or another at all of them except the Sheraton Suites and were pleased with each of them (would have expected to pay 3X's as much if booking independently)...it is one of the few areas we have found on Priceline that is consistently excellent (no "loser" hotels in the group).

Since your flight arrives late I would suggest sticking to the 3* rating....the 2 1/2*'s are nice enough but some of them stop running shuttles at 11P or midnight. All of the 3*'s run 24/7

Any town car company will pick you up at the hotel the next AM at any time you specify. Cost is the same as the airport.

I also suggest Priceline 3* in the airport zone. The last time we did this we did get the Sheraton Suites and it was wonderful! We had an early morning flight so we drove to the hotel and dropped our stuff off and ran the car back to the airport, took the free shuttle back and walked to get dinner. Took the free shuttle back to the airport in the morning......

All 3* hotels in this zone are nice and in the same area unless you get the hotel right in the airport....

Same reply as others. Bid 3* on MCO hotels. I bid for my son and his DF and they won the Holiday Inn. They got an upgrade to the "private" floor which really impressed them. We won the Marriott. Lovely kingbed room (only beef was it was a loooong walk from the elevator). I've bid 2* in the past and paid $10 for the taxi after the shuttle quit running. The Marriott shuttle driver even had small bottles of chilled water for us -- it was great!
