Can someone please tell me what happens with strollers when arriving at and departing from Orlando International?

Can you pick up your stroller as soon as you get off the plane or does it need to go through all that double luggage-collection business?! And when going home can you take the stroller right up to the gate?

You can take the stroller right up to the gate both way and it will be waiting for you when you get off the plane.

You just tell the agent when you arrive at the gate and they will give you a tag to put on the stroller.

We did this in May from Seattle to Phoenix and it was so cool. We pushed our grandaughter to the door of the plane then folded the stroller down. Then we got on the plane. When we got off the plane it was sittng in the same spot (Except now in Phoenix) and we unfolded it and pushed her and the car seat off the plane connecting thingy. (You know the walkway that pushes up to the plane)

when we landed in Orlando (flying Virgin from the UK) we had to pick our stroller up at the baggage carousel (only the first time, we didn't have to put it on the 2nd baggage thingy).
be aware - the strollers come off first and they put them to one side - we waited till the last bag was off and thought our stroller was lost, then someone said -oh no, they are over there and they had been stood there for ages and we hadn't realised. Same thing happened in Gatwick on the way back (and we were watching for it in Gatwick as well....)

boarding the plane you can take it to the gate, both in the UK and USA

Thanks everyone, that's really helpful - especially that tip about the strollers coming off first, Bev!:D

Just FYI, though I'm sure you're probably flying Virgin or BA unless you're using a charter. I've found that Virgin and BA will deliver strollers to the carousels for US arrivals, but US-based carriers will deliver them to the gate; at least, that has been my experience with AA, CO, and NWA.

It may have something to do with the tags that are put on; the ones used by US carriers have a space to specify "deliver to gate" or "deliver to baggage claim". I always mark "deliver to gate". I can't recall seeing that on UK carrier tags, though it could be I've just forgotten.

In my experience it has been dependent on the airline and type of aircraft. on larger aircraft it will either be avaialble right after you get off the plane or once you get to baggage claim, on smaller aircraft I always get the stroller just as we get off the airplane. Have fun,
