Origin of your Disboard User Name

I'm curious how everyone came up with their Disboard username. What's the backstory or reference?

Do you still like it? If you could change it, what would you change it to?

My board name is a character from the t.v. show Doctor Who. I honestly cannot remember why I picked this as my name over here because she isn't even my favorite character from the show. I must have been recently watching an episode when I decided to create the name.

It's a perfectly fine user name. But if we had the ability to change our names without having to create a whole new account, I probably would.

Not sure what I'd change it to though. Maybe something more Disney-related...though I don't really have a favorite character or anything these days so maybe not. I guess I'd be more likely to change it to another t.v. show character.....which I would inevitably get sick of as well.

Anyway...here's the real "Clara Oswald." I look absolutely nothing like her.

My driver's license was next to the keyboard when I registered back in March of '99, 26 years ago. I still like it, have had it for 80 years now. Still works for me.

Well, that's pretty awesome. I had no idea and just assumed you were maybe in the 50s range! Maybe you've mentioned your age before and I just wasn't observant.

Well, let me say that I have no imagination or creativity. Also, the internet and social media were new enough that I didn’t think I needed to be totally anonymous, just a little anonymous.

Local Newscast Producer and Assignment Editor with a little Photography thrown in here and there. .

Well my first name fell to WOKE and I left here because of the negative environment..... sitting at the computer desk wasn't healthy for my cancer....but purchased a fancy phone and some controversy arose and I wanted to see what the view was here.. only to find that I could avoid the thorny side of community and join the fun of the folks I left behind...no wonder Dan has so much wisdom with words and could deflect all the thorns....for that I was grateful years ago... citrus trees have thorns... not sure why, nothing here wild wants to eat them but reach in for the large juicy fruit and you get all sliced up like an anagram... indeed a nourishing fruitful community here

I think this is the third user name I have had. I changed it after a rough start on the debate board 25 or so years ago. Then changed it again, a few years later. It is kind of self explanatory Disney + my name. I am not in love with the name but I don't hate it either.

Yes, I have an '07 that I won't ever part with! I've loved them since I was a kid.

My name is also in my signature so people can call me by either my DIS name or real name.
Am I still happy with it? I am - short and easy to remember

I have used that name for more years than I have been on these boards.
It is part of my email accounts and used on boards many years ago, since I got a computer.

Pollyanna is a favorite Disney character of mine, and I was a young mom at the time I joined, so I thought the name would say something about my perspective. I still like it.
