:guilty: i was looking at my disney vacation planner dvd and it showed famileis swimming at orient beach in st marten.
i could be worng, but i thought that oreint beach was the nude beach on the island.

Orient Bay is not a nude beach. It is a European beach and occasionally you will see topless beachgoers. There is also a clothing optional resort at one end of Orient Bay and very infrequently, in my opinion, a guest will stroll by without clothes. We were there on the 12/18 Magic with our kids for the 5th time (we love Kakao Beach!). The occasional topless/nude person has never bothered us or our kids! The food is great and the beach is perfect! Lots of activities or places to soak up the sun and have some great french food and wine!

Are there taxis when you get off the ship that will take you to that beach adn how much does it cost to take a taxi there? I don't really want to book any excursions, I would rather do it myself so the times can be more flexible.

Taxis are very easy, dependable and inexpensives. Our family of 4 cost about $22 including tip each way. Our driver dropped us off after the 15 minute trip from the ship to Orient Bay and picked us up at a preassigned time. We've also rented a jeep but found the taxis are easier and cheaper plus you have more flexibility to return later (rental car offices close at 5pm).

Do they have water trampoline and wave runner rentals at Orient Beach? If so, what part of the beach and how much did it cost?

Thanks!

Mom from NC

If you are traveling with little ones I suggest a place they called "kiddie beach" No tide or current, like a big swimming pool. There was a little beach shack renting umbrellas, chairs, kayaks. They also served food and beverage.

We rented a car from budget and they showed us on the map. (it is a little south of orient)
