Are the Oregon Grape plants, growing near the TePees, in DLP, imported from the United States North West for the sake of the display; or is this plant normally found in France?

:teeth:

Good catch! I have no idea, but I once went to the teacher/informaiton centre at Epcot (it no longer exists) to find out the name of a plant in the 'Victoria Gardens' at the Canada Pavilion. (supposed to be a tribute to Butchart Gardens near Victoria, British Columbia).

The plant was actually native to southern climates, although Victoria does lie in a temperate rainforest climate like Oregon.

Hope that you find an answer!

Just for the record, Oregon grape is the state flower of Oregon. It grows wild here and is definitely native to the Northwest. The fruits are edible but not too tasty, sometimes made into jam.

I can't help you with whether they were imported or not but I'm guessing they would have been obtained locally as they are easily available in garden centres and nurseries in the UK and we're not that far away from France! :goodvibes

We've got one in our front garden that we planted when we moved in 17 years ago so I'm quite attached to it!
