Ordering off the Menu at Character Meals

I've seen a couple posts mentioning the option of ordering off the menu at character meals, rather than eating from the buffet. Is this an option at only certain character meals, or all of them?

I know that is available at Storytellers Cafe at the GCH and I think you can also do it Mickey's Surfs up at PHC.

It is not an option at Goofy's or Minnie's.

The only Character meals with menu options are at the Storyteller's Cafe breakfast, and Ariel's Grotto. All others are buffet only.

If you have a dietary restriction you can request special items at all of the buffets. The chefs will prepare gluten free, diabetic, and vegetarian meals. They would like you to make requests in advance if possible.

Like some of the PPs have said you can order off of a menu at Storytellers. DH likes the buffet and I usually order the banana stuffed french toast off of the menu.
