Yes I keep reading that there is just to much food on the plan but I'm a pretty big eater ;)

So when we go to Le Cellier if I want the Vine-Ripened Tomato Stack AND the cheese soup can I pay OOP for the less expensive appetizer or will they want me to pay for the more expensive one with cash? If I want an additional side dish -- OOP again? 2 deserts...pay for the cheaper one and use the plan for the more expensive one?

And yes I can eat all that (I'm 6'3" and 225 pds)...we will average at least 12 miles a day and it works up an appetite.

Probably a stupid question but I'd like to know for budgeting purposes.

Thanks

Bill

You can pay oop for anything extra you order.

I would be clear with the server though which items you want to use the ddp for and which you will be paying oop for.

And remember, generally the oop items will have an automatic 18% gratuity added.

It's not a problem, they can just charge it back to your room. I think we ordered some alcohol and at Le Cellier the creamed spinach.

I did notice a few places didn't charge us for some things like at Prime Time Cafe I asked for more greens with my chicken and they didn't charge me extra for that.

Just tell your server what you want to pay for OOP and they will oblige. Enjoy the cheese soup at Le Cellier, its amazing but I warn you, it looks like a tiny bowl but its tiny for a reason, I managed only 3 bites of my steak after the soup and pretzel bread and I am a big eater!

Haha I am also a big eater (6'3" 285lbs.). You do get a massive amount of food with the DDP. Also you are not just getting a table service but a counter service as well and they can be BIG meals also.

Yes you can pay OOP for extras. I did that at LeCellier also. I got the Steakhouse Caesar (sp) salad & the Cheese Soup as apps. I couldn't finish my steak either!

I actually did that last time, I ordered the mussels and the soup. I told the waitress that I wanted the mussels as part of the DDP and to pay cash for the soup. I also told her it was the best soup I had in my life and that if she couldn’t do that or if was too complicated to just bring me the soup. She seemed to have no problem with it.

PS

In good Disney fashion…

She gave me the soup for free with a wink and a “Shhhh.”

We just got back, and yes the dining plan gives both of you an app each, entree each, and dessert each, but if you are wanting to order say the cheese soup then just say you are on the dining plan, but would like to pay for such and such extra that you order. It was not a problem we did this with things like wine basically, and also did this for the cheese soup. If you are planning on ordering a third dessert then just name your dining plan things off then say you would like to add such and such.

Thanks for the info could be very helpful with 1 on kids plan who gets s/f jeello for dessert and his sisters get triple chocolate cake!!Another question Can you order a salad as an appetizer if none or few of their choices are appealing

I believe the "Starter" type salads can be ordered as an appetizer.
