Ordering More in the MDR

Thank you for this! With the knowledge that it's all the same kitchen and so probably not a lot of trouble, I'll have to file this tip away. I love all kinds of bread, but while perusing the menus for the Fantasy I saw several of the bread service options that were no gos for me.

Well, I LOVE sourdough bread and I hate most other rolls. So my waiter used to bring me a special basket of sourdough.

They really are quite accommodating, One of the features about DCL is that your waiter follows you to the different MDR's. They get to know what you as an individual like (more so on a 7 days cruise than a 3 day...). They knew we liked diet coke, and they knew I only ate sourdough - because I told them. So they made sure they always had those things. My DW had an allergy to shellfish, so they would give her a menu the night before and let her choose the next nights meal so that they could have it prepared separately.

Just tell your waiter what you need and they will generally take good care of you.

On the nights when the MDRs serve their own menus, getting something different for bread service may be possible. But, you should be aware that there will also be nights where all the MDRs feature the same menu, and obviously the same bread service.

Heck, you don't even have to order from the menu for the restaurant you are in. All the food comes from a central kitchen. Want the soufflé, but it's not on your menu? Not a problem.

I remember on our PC cruise a table mate (not in our party) mentioned loving Indian food. Our servers brought us Indian dishes from the crew mess for the rest of the cruise. 🤣

Now that's something I need to remember - it's been so long since I've had good Indian, I miss it almost as much as German... Now Mexican? We have great Mexican food out here in Phoenix.

Our servers have always been exceptional in providing whatever we wanted! We have even gone there to feast on a plate of calamari and pursettes...nothing else, we just ordered it the night before. I remember that I once stated that the 3 of us usually eat avocados every day but have adjusted to going without them for the cruise...and to our surprise, our server had them for us each night of that cruise! Receiving a well deserved $$$!😆
