Ordering from Child Menus

My DS who will turn 12 in August is a very picky, light eater. Will I have trouble ordering from the child menus? I should mention too, that he's small for his age. I would just hate to have to order an adult meal and have it go to waste. Also I would have trouble finding something off the adult menus that he would actually eat at all.

You should be fine. My DS is 13 and we ordered from kids menus for him without any issues last month, at both TS and CS places.

We were paying OOP. If on Disney dining, I've heard mixed answers, but usually it seems the "worst" case is you get an adult portion of a child item.

I was also wondering this. DD will be 10 when we go and she only eats PLAIN (no sauce) pasta and chicken fingers. That is really it. I don't think there is 1 thing on the adult menu she will eat.
By the way it is my step daughter who does not live with us. so we cannot get her to eat anything. My DH, DD (1) and I eat everything. So it is frustrating

I feel your pain. My 11 yo ate only pizza and chicken fingers our entire trip last time. My older two will at least try anything.

I am an adult. I have ordered an adult appetizer, a child's main entree and an adult dessert. Never had a problem. I am a plain, no fish eater - no sauces for me. popcorn::

WDW I think does not have a problem with it at sit-down places.
As long as all adults do not order from the children's menu - then they might make a stink (less of a bill means less money and less tips).

If I can modify an adult entree without sauce or onions or whatever, I do order an adult item. :rotfl:

Generally folks haven't had a problem with that. Worse cases reported simply indicate folks being charged an adult price, but no one was denied the smaller, blander meal.

;) Never had a problem either. My girls who are 20 and 13 usully order from the kids menu every where we go. There not big eatters so why waste an adult meal. At some of the TS restuarants they split an adult meal if it's something they like. There also chicken fanatics;)

We have seen some people have a problem when they are on the Dining Plan but that seems to be rare. Generally the servers will get you whatever you want if they are able to. We have also seen a couple that were charged more for the kids meal but they also got about double the portions of the kids meal.
