I'd like to order a small cake for ds's birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's. What's the latest info with ordering cakes? Do they still allow that?

Thank you.

They will bring out a cupcake and sing, as long as you tell them, but you can also order from Baby Cakes in DTD. We did that for our room on our ds's bday.

Are the smaller cakes any good? Are they baked fresh or are they frozen?

If they are mediocre frozen cakes we will stick with the regular dessert but if the 6 inch cakes are good I will order one for him.

Thank you. :upsidedow

I thought you could pre-order and pay for freshly baked made to order birthday cakes? :confused3 Why would people pay so much for defrosted frozen cakes?

I guess I could order one of those tiered mini cakes for him.

You can order fresh baked cakes, most bakeries need 48-72 hours notice. I highly suggest looking at the cake chatter thread a previous poster mentioned. I have ordered several cakes that way and have not been disappointed. The frozen cakes mentioned are what they call podium cakes and are what you get if you walk up to the restaurant and want a cake right then without an order and they are $21.
