Ordering birthday cake for lunch at Plaza Inn

Has anyone done this before? I read on a separate cake thread that you can only order Disneyland cakes for table service restaurants only. However, I've experienced my last two visits birthday cake being delivered on a rolling cart, someone announcing the birthdays, and singing happy birthday.

I really want to do this as a surprise for my son and my visiting nephew.

I would try calling DLR and asking about birthday celebration options at the Plaza Inn ((714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463).

We did Minnie and Friends breakfast here and the table next to us had a birthday cake delivered during breakfast.
