Ordering a TS to go?

I know this sounds stupid, but has anyone ever walked into a TS place and asked for it to go?

I know for sure you cannot order carryout from Olivia's or California Grill.

I do not recall any poster stating that they were able to get TS carryout on the dining plan.

On our last trip, will dining at Wispering canyon Cafe, WL, my DH wasen't feeling well and went back to the room. I asked if his meal could be boxed up to take. No problem. If you are there eating, and want to take a meal that you ordered out, I don't see a problem. It would just be in a to-go box, and may not look pretty. I think they want you to sit down, and pay your tip, though.;)
It may be different from location to location.

Having your meal boxed up to take with you because you can't eat or finish it is different from going into the restaurant and ordering your food to carry out without getting a table and sitting down. I've had part of the meal boxed to take on many occasions at many restaurants but am totally unaware of anyone who was successful in walking into a TS restaurant and ordering their meal to carry out. The only places I think will not allow you to take leftovers or your dessert are the buffets and family styles.

It sounds as though the OP doesn't wish to make an ADR or wait in line for seating, just carry out a TS meal.

Well, the reason I ask is that I have a 19 month old. I have free dining and I would like to upgrade to the Deluxe due to my mother being diabetic and needing at least 2 sit down meals and hates fried food. I was hoping that on some nights I could go to my ADR and request for it to be put in doggie bags. I don't see the issue... they can move a table faster, and I can get back to the hotel if I have to.... thoughts?

Last year my dad fell ill while we were on our vacation at Disney....I don't know about other restaurants, but the Wave at the Contemporary did let us call down and order a meal for him and boxed it up for pick-up rather than make us use 2TS for room-service. Other restaurants we had ADR's at (Yachtsman Steakhouse, Grand FLoridian Cafe) allowed us to sit and eat our meals (my mom, me and DS) and order a meal to-go for my dad and just took the appropriate TS credit(s) off our account.....so yes, it can be done - just explain to the CM the situation and they'll usually do what they can to accomodate. Some restaurants may not do it - so call ahead to make sure!

The ones I know for sure won't do it are the buffets or family-style resturants....our first night there my dad was pretty wiped out and stayed in the hotel while we kept out ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern - they wouldn't let us box up even our leftovers to take with us for him (family-style TS) despite our not even asking for additional plates of food - it was what we were served and that's all we wanted to take back, not more...anyway, that's my experience from last year.

Thank you! I pretty much figured that for O'hana (family style) and buffet's it wouldn't be feasible, but I was just thinking of how I could cover all bases. 3 sit downs is alot and I am not sure that my little one could handle it.

I doubt it. None of the restaurants are equipped to handle carry out
Bears repeating.

Disney restaurants are staffed, stocked, and equipped to prepare meals for Guests dining at their tables.

An occasional meal-to-go in conjunction with the bulk of a party dining in the restaurant is VERY different from expecting to be able to walk up to a restaurant podium and order take-out.

Rather than spend the additional $64 per night (for two adults, unsure if there are actually more) to upgrade, use that money to purchase the additional meal each day. Plus, the counter/quick service locations have MANY alternatives to fried food.
