I called the special cake phone #, transferred over to the Contemporary line and was told to email the chef regarding the cake.

I emailed the chef asking to discuss my options for a GF cake.

He responded saying that the gluten free cakes are 6" in chocolate or vanilla for $29. And that was it...

What's my next step?

I just ordered a Gluten free cake in February, I think it was through AKL that is where my mom was staying. We just called told them We needed a Gluten Free Cake what flavor we wanted and what room to Deliver it to. No problems at all getting it done.
I would do one of two things. Either email them back and tell them what flavor cake you want with your name and phone number asking if someone can call you, or 2 call your hotel if there is a restaurant or food court there ask to speak to them, and tell them you want to order a gluten free cake and if you want it delivered to the room, or restaurant. Personally I would call where I am staying and talk to the food people there. We have had Special cakes done at AKL, BW Bakery and GF.

I got a gluten free/dairy free cake from WL in February. While I didn't have the greatest luck communicating with them, the cake itself tasted pretty good (though I think I got some cross contamination w/it, but can't be 100% sure). I have however purchased a custom dessert from the Contemporary and it was amazing! I am sure their cakes are pretty good too. I do know they can't really do a lot of customizing on the cake because it is a cross contamination issue as well. I would say you can email them what you want or ask more questions regarding a dessert. Sometimes, I have better luck getting a hold of someone via email than the phone. Good luck! :thumbsup2

We just had two fantabulous b-day cakes last week. One was from Pat at the Grand Floridian, it was white with strawberry mousse filling, 10 inch for $77, chefs choice--I just said something pretty with a music theme. It came with piano keys in fondant on bottom and an edible screen printed conductor chocolate Mickey on top. The other ended up being made by the Yachts Club Bakery, dark chocolate with mousse filling, green fondant with vines and a solid hand painted white chocolate tink on top. $100 Each resort has their own characters and normally the YC/BC is Minnie/Mickey; so, they had to get the Tink in advance from the Grand Floridian.

Both cakes were equally delicious. I will tell you that we ordered both cakes through the club level IPO and I personally had Pat call me to verify what exactly we wanted. I was told that since they were personalized that the smallest cake they could make was the 10 inch. It seemed like the Tink cake was bigger, though.:confused3

We stayed at the YC, first cake was delivered to Narcoosees, 2nd to Yachtsman Steak House.

Originally we were staying at the Poly and that IPO told me that they felt the Grand was the best for gluten free. The YC IPO swore that they had the best baker in Disney.:goodvibes :goodvibes:lmao:
