ordering a cake?

I really need some help, I tried reading the cake thread but I am a little confused still on ordering a cake...we are going to celebrate my parent's 30th wedding anniversary Jan 3-10. I wanted to order them a cake, one of the 10 inch ones. Do I need to call the restaurant directly or do I just call the cake hotline? I was thinking of maybe ordering it for our dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Has anyone ever ordered a cake from there? Thank you in advance for any information!

I did not know that you had to order one??,2007 we there for my DS Birthday at the Biergarten and they just came out with one no charge,me and my DS still talk about it as one of the nicest things we ever had done for us.

I am not interested in a free cake that is why I want to pre order it, so I can pick and choose the flavors and what the cake will actually look like. I just want to do something a little special for my parents.

The above poster brought up getting one free and didnt' think it was necessary to order one. Readers ought to know that getting a cake free is an unusual occurrence.

I have never ordered a cake from WDW and can't give you any specifics that are not already on the cake thread.

I haven't ordered the cake since the birth of the cake hotline, but that's the number that you want to use to order all cakes now.

Take a look at the cake thread and see what kind of cake appeals to you. When you call the cake hotline I am sure that they'll be very helpful. I called back in the days when you called the restaurant directly and they were fantastic and very knowledgeable. I would imagine the line dedicated to only cakes would be even more helpful.
