I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to rides and it has sort of rubbed off onto my 2 girls (age 6 and 10).

I really would like to try some of the big attractions but am absolutely scared stiff!

A list of your top scariest rides might help me to decide what to definitely avoid and what I may give a go would be good!

Also do you think I will miss out on the whole disney experience if I don't do any of the main attractions? I'm sort of thinking when I get home and get asked what i went on and I have to say only the little rides:rolleyes1

I've never done Rock n Roller, Space Mountain or Indiana Jones because they have inversions and there is absolutely no way I am being tipped upside down!! DH has ridden them and said I could manage them but I'm not prepared to try. So to me, they are the ultimate in scariness. :scared1:

Personally, I could spend all my time wandering around soaking up the atmosphere and the attention to detail and so long as I watched the parade and some shows I wouldn't feel I was missing out by not doing any rides.....well, maybe Big Thunder Mountain and Tower of Terror. :rotfl: Now, I don't find those two scary, but some will........

I think a lot will depend on what type of ride you like (or not) and what you feel comfortable with.

For me I hate to go upside down and I've never ridden RRC, SM or IJ just like Elaine. I have also had a back problem and just feel those rides may start it off - I've heard SM throws you around a lot.

Some people may have a different fear - like dark rides or spinning but be happy to go upside down!

I have tried Crush which is fast and dark in places and spins so not too keen but will ride it. I braved ToT in WDW last year and didn't find it too bad - may have been lucky though. I can't wait to try the DLP version.

DD (13) has tried them all and loves thrill rides. DH can handle the likes of RRC and SM but can't go anywhere near the likes of the tea cups!

I would definitely recommend BTM which I think most people handle well.

I'm also a BIG CHICKEN in rides but I always tell myself "oke a ride takes two ore three minutes and what can happen is such short time".:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for replying:)

I don't like anything that spins as it makes me feel sick. I can't even do the tea-cups as it makes me feel soooo ill.

I am fine on any ride that has the proper restraints that go over your shoulders, if it's just a lap bar I get panicky!! I reckon I could manage thunder mountain but am unsure about indiana jones. Space mountain and the aerosmith one looks awful.

Can anyone tell me if Crush is really spinny as I want to take the girls on it but am worried about feeling sick:eek:

You could always do what I do and take a travelling tablet beforehand I find it helps a lot. ;)

You may want to avoid Star Tours too, that one makes me feel green.

That's a good idea. We've got those sea bands too, I might just wear them permanently!!!

I think I've got wimpy with age! Believe it or not, I went to Disney world when I was 19 (many years ago!!) A lot of the rides had the over the shoulder restraints so I went on nearly everything, even the pirate ship that went upside down!

I haven't tried Rock n Roller or Space Mountain as both are too scary for me.

Between Indiana Jones and Crush I'm not sure which is 'scariest'. The idea of going upside down on IJ was more scary than the actual ride. It was much better second time round when I knew what to expect. Crush is great and it is a different ride every time as it depends which way you're facing on the spins so always feels like a different experience. Definatly better to be facing forward in the shell for the first half of the ride. However the lack of over the shoulder straps can feel scary if you're facing the wrong (or right depending on your POV) way on some of the dips and turns.

Big Thunder Mountain is great and not scary at all.

So if you're not sure about the first 4 try BTM first and judge your own reaction to that to see which of the others you might like :)

I have been to DLRP 6 times and have NEVER been on BTM, IJ, Teacups, Space Mountain, RnR Coaster, TOT or Crush. My husband has offered me hard cash to try BTM but it never persuaded me! I don't feel like I have missed out, and still love going and am looking forward to my next trip in 19 days. :cool1: I go on all the other rides and have the shows and parades to see and the general Disneyness of the whole place. On my last trip it was just me and my daughter. I didn't want her to miss out so I queued for each of the scary rides with her, but then left through the chicken door as she got on the ride. So I have even got to see all the theming of each ride.

Many people can't go on these rides due to neck, spine or blood pressure conditions but they still enjoy Disney. You'll have a great time.:)

Last september i found Crush the scariest of all but didnt go on Indiana Jones because i can't look down and see how high i am LOL and for the same reason i find scary Flying Carpets and Dumbo :rotfl2:

Im a chicken as well but as its just me and two 11yr old girls im going to have to try ,been on space mountain twice but never opened my eyes and screamed a lot ,but when I got off I was so proud of myself and felt quite charged up , so this year i going to go for it (GLUP:scared1: ) I always think the worst bit is waiting in the queue and wondering wether to run for it BUT by far the MOST scariest thing in the whole resort is THAT DAMM WITCH on the snow white ride she sooooo freaks me out even now:scared1: :scared1:scared1: :scared1:

I've been on them all and I can honestly say I find Tower of Terror and rock n roller coaster the worst! Other than that its not too bad. I went on Indiana Jones last wk and it started raining so I put my head down to try and put my hood on (like you do:rotfl: ) and with the force of the loop something clicked/snapped in my neck...was ok after about an hr so couldn't have been to serious!!;) I find Space mountain is sore on the head...not scarey just uncomfy!:confused3

Crushes coaster took me by suprise but its good second time around.

For me it's Space Mountain, I did that one once, only once! I can handle a smooth coaster but that one bumped around so much I was in pain for quite awhile.

Rock-N-Roller coaster is fast and great, but there were a few spots that I had a hard time catching my breath. I did it more than once. :rotfl:

Tower of Terror I did at WDW and I'm not sure why! I came off wanting to kiss the ground. I had finger nail marks in my hand from squeezing the handle and my husband. Not sure if I'll try it at DLP or not.

I can't wait to try Crush, looks like fun! Big Thunder is my 6 year olds favorite ride, at 4 she dragged everyone on it about 10 times one day.
