Order for carry-out?

I'd still figure 45 minutes from Disney Springs back to any resort. Maybe if you were ordering from the restaurant at your resort, it would be easier. I guess you could just call in as if it were in-room dining.

I would imagine take out would be problem filled.

Mostly because right now most places you need an ADR to get in. I know many have seen the fights with CMs when someone didn't know they need ADRs and now can't get in to eat somewhere.

Now imagine carry out was an option. People would assume there was no limit to how many can carry out.

However this isn't practical. The kitchen could only handle so much at once. So adding carryout would have to be VERY limited in numbers (only a few per place each night) and would also need something like an ADR but for carryout (as they would have know in advance your doing carryout so they know if to plan on a table for you or not).

It'll still be 45 minutes to an hour if you're relying on Disney Transportation.

I have taken out at Disney restaurants before. It is at their discretion, you have to order at the bar and they add gratuity.

Could we get BOG lunch boxed up? My DH has a watersport morning planned the day we have a BOG lunch ressie, but I was thinking about just ordering his food as usual then getting it boxed up and bringing it to him at the gate if he can't meet us at the restaurant on time.

I ate there twice last trip, and they do have boxes for leftovers that would fit a sandwich. That being said, I don't know if I would really bother. If you have a reservation for lunch and he can't make it, I think as long as the rest of your party is there, they won't charge you the no show fee. It would probably be better for him to grab something fresh, as his fries (if he got a sandwich and fries) may be cold. I'd play it by ear myself!
