Orbitz users - hold my hand a bit

2 adults, 2 children, Polynesian April 17th - 20th.

I see a $50/night difference on Orbitz when you add 2 children. From an average of $341/night (for a Garden View) to an average of $391/night. You may want to recheck your booking.

Thank you! I didn't notice the charge because it used my Orbucks! I just canceled the reservation and rebooked and theres a $150 difference. Yeesh, sorry for the misinformation, I need to pay more attention! :coffee:

Quick question: I made a reservation for my mom thru Orbitz on Saturday. We already have a Villa reserved through WDW directly--I am trying to link our reservations. The MDE will not take the Orbitz confirmation number so I called them. The guy told me I have to wait 5 days until the other code is generated. Is this correct? I asked him if he was supposed to call WDW to get the code and he said no.
Also, do I need to make sure the tickets are in my moms name? I made the reservation in my name and I think the tickets are in my name. Will this be a problem since I am staying in a different room and will have tickets through WDW? Thanks for your help!

I just looked back at my last WDW Orbitz purchase and the timing of when I got the confirmation from WDW showing I linked the trip. When I booked with Orbitz for our trip this past December I got the confirmation number to link in to MDE at the time of booking. It was shown on the Orbitz page as soon as I completed the purchase. It was down in the fine print somewhere.

I do believe the rep from Orbitz was correct in that you can't get the number from Disney, you'll have to get it from Orbitz. No idea why it takes 5 days.

I booked through Orbitz the night before last. Yesterday morning I added my kids through online chat and also asked about the 12 digit code. He told me that Disney hadn't sent it to them yet, and that I should receive an email when it's created. I went ahead and tried to add the reservation to MDE using the 6 digit hotel reservation code from Orbitz and it worked just fine. I did not have to wait for the 12 digit conf. code. That said, yesterday afternoon I received a Disney Destinations email with the 12 digit code so it didn't take 5 days.

Edited - you should have received two codes from Orbitz, one is the Orbitz code (longer) and one is the Hotel Confirmation code (6 digits). I added the res using the 6 digit code.

I don't have any suggestions re: the res and tickets and naming.

I bet that is the number that I entered in to MDE at the time I booked. All I can recall for sure, and confirmed by looking at my emails, is I linked it in MDE immediately after booking with Orbtiz. It was not 5 days. I also remember it was shown on the confirmation page after check out, same place it gave the information to set up the ME information

Yep, both codes show up on Orbitz once you pay, and they both show up in your confirmation email from Orbitz.

I just went back and looked. The two codes you receive are:

Orbitz Booking Number: PBORB-XXX-XXX-XXXX
Hotel Confirmation Number: XXXXXX (this is numbers and letters)

Try using the Hotel Confirmation Number. In the end you will have three codes total, the Orbitz Booking Number and Hotel confirmation Number, both generated by Orbitz immediately, and then the Disney confirmation Number, the 12 digit one starting with a "4" at some point within 5 more days. Again, you shouldn't need to wait for that 12 digit number. The Hotel Confirmation Number from Orbitz should work. If not, I'd try starting an online chat with Orbitz to see if they can assist you.

Got it! The hotel confirmation numbered worked and mom's room is showing up on MDE now. Now I have to figure out how to get her tickets to show up....none of the codes I have work for the tickets. Maybe I have to wait for the WDW number to come by email? Not sure. I will research this and see what I can find. Thanks for your help Disers! Ya'll are great!!:cheer2:

I checked back on Orbitz a few days after I made the reservation and the tickets confirmation number popped up. I added it into MDE and it was fine. I never got an e-mail, so just keep checking.

I created a DIS userID just to reply to this thread. :)

I just booked my resort through Orbitz and used the code REVIEW15 to 15% off the spring rate. Upon checkout, there was a link on the Orbitz page to the MDE. I clicked the link and used the Hotel Confirmation Number on Orbitz to link the hotel reservations immediately.

I booked using three people; 2 adults and 1 two year old. The charge was the same as 2 adults. I had no trouble picking the family members in MDE. Perhaps they don't charge extra under a certain age threshold.

I booked the tickets through Undercover Tourist and evidently have to wait to receive them in the mail before I can link to MDE. However, since I'm currently 113 days out (but who's counting :rotfl2:) I'm not too worried. If I were closer to the 90 day mark, I might be more antsy to get those FP+ in.

Was your booking for Disneyland, or for a campsite, or for a DVC resort? If not, could you share the resort, room type, and dates? We'd love to find out if there's another way to avoid the extra charge for children.

No problem! I booked the following:

Cabins at Fort Wilderness
May 16th - May 22nd
7 days / 6 Nights
$1,606 after 15% Orbitz coupon

Aha! Interesting! The Cabins (like the campgrounds) don't have an extra charge for guests beyond the first two. That's useful to know. Thanks!

I'm trying to see what Orbitz can do for a DL trip as we want to stay at the PPH, but it's not coming up on their site  Is there a special code word or something I put in to get the hotel to pop up?

All three Disney hotels are coming up for me. For best results, type "Disneyland" into the location box, or "Anaheim - Disneyland", and select 4-star hotels. Are you looking at dates way in the future, like 2016? They might not have dates loaded that far out.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading through the thread and was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm from Australia and this is my first trip to Disneyland. We've booked the Disneyland Hotel and we booked through Orbitz to get the 15% off. Since I received a hotel confirmation number I assumed I could use that to confirm I did indeed have a valid booking at the hotel, but as you all know the 6 digit Orbitz code cannot be used on the Disney website, apparently an 8 digit code is needed. I emailed Orbitz as suggested by others but received this response:

'On your behalf, I have contacted the property to request the code; however, they have stated the reservation booked through Orbitz is not considered a package on their site, and you will not be able to view your reservation on the Disney website.'

I guess I can understand that from a Disney perspective but it makes me feel uneasy not being able to guarantee that Disneyland Hotel has received my booking.

Can anyone please advise what to do from here? It would be much appreciated.

Also, is this MDE thing everyone is talking about only applicable to Disneyworld and not Disneyland?

Only WDW. As you suspect, MDE only applies to WDW so no advantage to linking a DL booking. No reason to worry. Disney will have your reservation

No

Thanks Ange for the reply.

I would like to contact Disneyland Hotel to request x2 Queen instead of x1 King (obviously this can be done closer to May when we're going) - but how can this be done if I don't have a reservation # whereby they can look me up? Can they look me up via surname or something else?

Also does anyone have any suggestions as to which tower is best to try and get a room in at Disneyland Hotel?

Thanks!

Your requests need to be made through Orbitz.

If there are more than 2 people in your room you will automatically get 2Q beds. King bed rooms have a 2 person capacity.
