They have 15% off rack rates, which is better than my AP discount. Thought I'd pass this along. I believe the promo is good through April 15 but has to be booked by Jan 5. Many hotels are included but it's a good and somewhat rare savings on DLR hotels.

The promo code is HAPPYNEWYEAR

Forgot to mention one of the most important things! The discount applies to all rooms, including concierge and suites. I saved $54 on a standard room at GCH ($305) for 1/11. Standard rooms at PPH were $204 and DLH, $259. The AP rate at DLH is $275 for the same date.

Side note: you can get some good rates through Last Minute Travel (they don't tell you the hotel name, but you can figure it out) and they do have promo codes as well but they wouldn't work on the DLH properties when I tried. I called and was told that the code did not apply to all hotels, even though the website says it does. If you could get the codes to work it would be a little better rate than Orbitz. I was told that if you see "on request" next to the booking, the code won't work at Last Minute Travel.

Thanks for posting this. I can potentially save over $300 using this deal but I want to read through their cancellation policy before I commit. I am still holding out hope an even better AP rate will come out :rotfl2:. Wishful thinking right?

Yeah, I know. I kept hoping the same thing. The cancellation policy is the standard DLR hotel rule. I can cancel without penalty on my 1/11 reservation as long as it's done before 12:01 AM on 1/7. Makes it easier to go ahead and reserve it, but you do get charged the one night's cost up front when you reserve (same as through the hotel directly/disneyland.com).

I just booked at Paradise Pier! Thank you so much!

After I had booked, DH and I decided to add another night. Orbitz made me book a new reservation and cancel the old one. The cancellation was no problem. I have until 4 days before I arrive to cancel.

I booked PPH a couple of days ago using this code, happynewyear. It is good for one more day. It isn't much, but considering how few discounts there are for DLR properties right now, I didn't want to miss out. I did have to pay the full amount in advance. Cancellation policy is fully refundable up to 5 days before my check-in date.

I agree, the discount isn't much, but 15% is better than 10% from AAA discount! This may be the only discount there is on Disney rooms, given the popularity of Carsland (and that we're going on a holiday weekend).

I took advantage of this because it gets us EMH to DCA. Visiting Carsland and riding RSR is important to us. I am also able to use the Dapper Day rate for part of my stay. Otherwise I don't know if I would stay on property at the rack rates. Hope others can take advantage of this. Thanks to the OP for posting or I would not have known about this.

If you book through Orbits, do you still get all the perks like MM and does Disney still give you the lanyards and a pin?

to the PP I only booked hotel so not a package that includes any "freebies" like lanyards or souvenir tickets. I am more concerned with saving the money. Since I will be a resort guest I assume I will get EMH.
I did just see travel must be completed by middle of April. So this may not be an option for everyone.

Lanyards and pins come with packages. his is just a room, not park tickets. However as a resort guest you WILL get EMH (which frankly is the most important thing to us).

Will I receive a "welcome to the disneyland hotel" email prior to arrival?

I canceled my original disney travel co. reservation at DLH for the end of March to save 15% through Orbitz.

Has anyone used their Orbitz reservations and if so, how was your experience?

I have never been to DL before and I am a little concerned about the Orbitz reservations.

Thanks!

No.

I've used Orbitz for other hotels, and there were no problems. Orbitz is just like the other online travel agencies such as Expedia and Travelocity. They don't provide any particular service, which is how they can offer discounts, but if all you're booking is a simple hotel room stay without any special requests, you shouldn't have any issues.

Mary - thanks for the info. I don't need anything special, I just have this nagging fear that we get there and the hotel doesn't have our reservation....

And flamegirl - I got the info. about the 15% room discount with Orbitz right here on the boards.... always the best source of the best information!:)

I just checked me Orbitz reservation. It includes a 'hotel confirmation number', which would be Disney's confirmation number. If your'e worried, call up Disney and use that confirmation number and confirm everything.

I used mine January 10-11 and it was great! Not only did we get the discount on a standard room, but the hotel upgraded us to a suite at GCH!!! We had no problems whatsoever.

I originally got the offer via email, probably because I've used Orbitz before. As a PP said, check this board because that's how I've found tons of discounts I didn't personally receive.

Thanks for the info. This promotion code had expired, but I was able to google and find a new one that gave me 15% off at the Disneyland Hotels.
