Orbitz and Magical Express

Ok, so for the first time ever I booked my Disney hotel through Orbitz because it was $25 less a night. Seems great until I come to the Magical Express part. They tell me to go to a ME site and enter in my information, but they ask for your ressie number and I know from using third party sites in the past that the ressie number for a site like Orbitz, and the hotel ressie number are not the same thing.

So, has anyone out there actually booked ME through Orbitz? If so, will I need to do something else?
 
It's two months later and I'm still hoping that someone has some experience to share on this whole Orbitz/ME thing :goodvibes That's the last time that I'll book through a third party site! ;)

Just call Disney and tell them what you need to do. They will be able to set up ME for you.

What happens if you plug in the Orbitz reservation number where it asks for a reservation number?

If all you ran into with Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, etc. was a Magical Express snafu (that, as stated above, you can call DME directly for) you got off lucky. On line travel agencies have a long long way to go before their customer service can make the honor roll (B or better).
 

Orbitz gave you a website to input your information. It's been 2 months and you haven't even attempted to do what they told you to do? You have no idea if your Orbitz reservation number will work in the DME site you were told to use.

I suggest you try what you were told to do and if that doesn't work contact Orbitz.
 
Thank you so much Duds! I called them and they handled it. Just an FYI for anyone else who books through Orbitz and wants ME, the ME site that they send you to apparently does not work when entering in their confirmation number (which I figured probably wouldn't). I did enter in my info on the ME site like Orbitz instructed me to and even received an email confirmation from ME. At the time I wasn't worried, but now that I'm approximately a month away from my trip and still haven't received a booklet, I started to wonder if they truly had gotten the info. ME told me that they hadn't, so it's a good thing that I called! So, for anyone else doing this, I would recommend calling ME directly :goodvibes

just in case somebody is struggling with the number ( i did )...here it is

the WDW number doesnt work, or in other words they are of no help...and would point you to travel agent that you booked with.
 
And again, Disney will speak only with the person that made the reservation. If you use any third party, you don't 'own' that reservation until you are standing at the checkin counter, at your resort!!
I always recommend making your own reservations. Makes it so much easier to have control over it.
