Orbitz 15% off summer discount rates

Sorry, you can't have the dining plan if booking a 3rd party vendor...:worried: We had planned on the dining plan, but we decided to go with Orbitz. When I ran the numbers, we actually save about $200 if we pay OOP. I know some like it for the convenience, but for $200, I'll give up a little convenience. ::yes::

I didnt realize that you couldn't add the dining plan if through Orbitz. Not sure we will even do it this time, but would like the option. So does this mean that the dining plan and tickets cant be added?

Anyone have any experience with Orbitz's cancellation policy? It says free cancellation but I can't find the fine print about it! Disney's room only cancellation policy is very generous & I'm used to that!

No dining plan, but it's possible to add tickets. HOWEVER, most say not to get the tickets from Orbitz, as they issue a voucher that has an expiration. If you have to cancel your trip, you could loose the tickets. I bought my tickets they Undercover tourist. Fast shipping and lower prices. If you go thru mousesavers newsletter (if you subscribe) you could possible save a little more.

I understand that there is no cancellation fee, but the resort cancellation policy kicks in. So if you cancel on short notice you would be charged what Disney charges for canceling. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think cancellations up to 6 days on a room only reservation, will be refunded. After the 6 day mark, you'll be charged for one night, the remainder of your reservation will be refunded.

We booked and then I called and added DD 6 and he added DH's name to the ressie too. It was quick and easy and saved $$$$!!!

I used code DISCOVER (20% OFF) and it was $466 at POR GV room for June 20-23!!! I had originally gone through Disney with the summer deal until I found out they stacked. Woo hoo saved an additional $99 with Orbitz

Just curious I checked my prices and why is it that it is less for 2 adults than it is for 2 adults and 1 child on Orbitz site? Strange. Has anyone run into this?

Orbitz counts all bodies as adults regardless if are under 18 (and would therefore be free) or not. Since Disney charges extra for more than 2 adults in the room, Obitz passes that on. What you need to do is book the room for the true number of adults (2) and then call Orbitz and have them add your child(ren). Orbitz will have to call Disney Wholesale Travel, but it can be done fairly easily and then you don't end up paying extra.

Okay, so I didn't know this and just checked and this is the case on my reservation. I used Orbucks for part of my payment. If I cancel and rebook, so I get those back? Or can I call orbitz and have it adjusted? Anyone know how it works?

For those of you that have used Orbitz before, do your tickets and room key all come on your band? Is everything the same as when you book through Disney? Can you use FP+ and charge on the band? It sounds like a good deal but I worry about having problems.

I purchased the room only on Orbitz, and was immediately able to see my reservation on MDE. Then I purchased tickets thru undercover tourist and easily added them to MDE. (I've read that it's best NOT to purchase the tickets on Orbitz, as they give you a DATED voucher. If you have to cancel, you may lose those tickets!!!) I also called Disney Magical Express to book our ride. Everything shows on MDE, and I will be choosing my FP+ spots on Saturday. We will be charging all our meals and purchases using the Magic Band. :goodvibes

When using Orbitz to book POR or CSR for 12/19-12/29/14, it does not say "PROMOTION CODE ELIGIBLE" anywhere as far as I can see. Does this mean that the code "DISCOVER" would not be applicable? I know discounts are seldom offered for this time at any Disney resorts, so my thought is that even though the promotion is through 12/31, Disney resorts are not eligible for this discount.

Thank you so much! :)

I just did a 'fake' reservation. With tickets it was a $300+ plus savings before DP would be added if booked through Disney. But you can't book dining with Orbitz.:rolleyes2 Otherwise I would have cancelled my Disney reservation and rebooked with Orbitz. Funny that Orbitz has room availability too and if you go to Disney site they are sold out. :confused3

Thanks! Just rebooked through Orbiz with the additional 20% off using pro code Discover and saved even more $$ than I had when I originally booked through expedia uk!

Hi everyone,

Well I was nervous but I took the plunge. I just booked through Orbittz and saved another $267.00 on my trip. I was able to use the DISCOVER code and get an extra 20%. I figured I ended up with about 45 % of the rooms.:cool1:

I am so happy I did it. I wouldn't cancel my other reservation till I got my daughter on and got ME booked. Everything went smooth.

Thanks to everyone who provided such great information. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you.:)
