Has anyone stayed there and how close is it to WDW?

Thanks for any info you have. We are looking for a condo that has laundry in room and a dishwasher and it looks nice so I was wondering. Thanks

I have never heard of these villas.

Who did you book thru?

Anyone else?

Just looking through skyauction.com and it is one of the properties. Have not booked yet.

Orbit One are two bedroom timeshares and are located right next to Westgate Villas. I have not seen them from the inside but hav read reviews on Timeshare Users Group. Sounds as if its a decent average timeshare to stay in..it is located on 192 and not a super long drive to Disney..

I guess I would say its not the worst but not the best as far as timeshares go.

Stayed there in 1996 or 97. They are not bad, certainly beats a hotel room. It's a small complex, decent pool and real close to the main gate of Disney. This was actually the first timeshare in Orlando that we stayed in. We have since bought into the Marriott Grand Vista, but we started here.

Thanks.

That is great. We are looking for a little bigger than a hotel room but we are still on a budget but a better budget than our last trip.

They say they have Washer/dryer in each unit and that would be a true plus for us.

I just read a horrible review of it on the AOL/Disnet travel board. They said the AC wasn't working, they got attitude from the staff. A lot of mold, dryer wasn't working. The unfriendly, unhelpful staff was the biggest complaint. Can't remember the rest, but tehy said theyw ould never stay there again.

We stayed at Orbit One last June and overall it was a very nice resort. We traded our timeshare unit and were first placed in a unit that had not been updated. It was not good at all. When we requested a change they moved us quickly into a newly renovated unit. It was very large. The master bath is incredible (large roman tub), a nice kitchen and each unit has a private screened in porch. It is NOT a Gold Crown Resort (RCI's rating system), but is still nice. The pool is average to slightly above with a decent slide. The best part about Orbit One to us was the ease in getting on Disney property. You simply cross over 192 onto Sherbeth Rd. and about 2 miles later you are at Animal Kingdom. It was wonderful not to have to face traffic. Let me know if I can help anymore. Have a great trip.

Lisa

Did it have a washer/druer and dishwasher?

That would be icing on the cake.

Thery sure do have washers and dryers!!! We exchanged into the Orbit One Villas a few yrs back and found them comfortable and so easy to get to. They were in the process then of updating the units. The family pool has a small waterfall slide for kids, and there is another pool also. Enjoy yourselves.

Here is the review I read and remember even a year can make a difference at these resorts.

Master bed= 1 king bed, whirlpool tub
VERY HOT room, upon check in we discovered the temp in there and told them and my hubby asked to be moved and was told, couldn't move you :(
The people at front desk area are unfriendly, unconcerned, guards at front gate were always on the phone.
Our dryer stopped working in our unit.
The place is run down and they don't keep up with maintence.
When they came to look at our air conditioner, they pulled the furnace filter out and it was loaded with a good inch of dust.
My hubby then reached inside the furnace walls only to find layers caked on them.
2 bed = had 2 twin beds, everything seemed to be "ok" in that room
the villas have 2 full bathrooms.
We did find mold growing on the walls surrounding the tubs.
On a postive note, the villa was clean and the maintence man was quick to help out and he was the ONLY friendly person there...lol
When I went up to the desk 2nd day there, I gave the front desk person a positive feedback on the maintence man and told her that I was writing a full page report on their resort on the Disney boards and she moved forward and all of a sudden, wouldn't you know it, she said how is your air conditioner working? "we can move you if it's not to your satifaction!!!
Sure move us now after we unpacked and unloaded all our food from the grocery store.
Sorry this is so long, I go Disney just about once a year and have stayed all over the place, but I wouldn't stay here again :(
This was paid in full so we were "stuck"
