Well today is our first day of our planning session, We got up at 3:30am!! to get all ready and say good bye to our cats! they are like my babies. My dad picked us up at 4:30am ready for the hour drive to the airport.

We got to the airport and checked in with no problems what so ever, we just walked straight up!! While i was there I asked the check in desk about taking my dress in aug, she advised me that i could carry it on in the dress bag as long as it was ok with security. When we were going through security I was searched so I thought it was a great time to ask them, She said it was no problem and they have loads go through. Still unsure i then double checked when we boarded!!

So if any UK brides are flying with Virgin Atlantic don’t worry about it. I am going to take my dress in its bag and just fold it in half!

Ok so I am writing this as we have just taken off!!!

No pictures from the airport as it was pretty boring, we just hung around for about 3 hours doing not a lot!

This time tomorrow we shall be planning our wedding!!!

Hopefully more to come soon with pictures of our planning session.

Ok so we landed around 3:30pm florida time and it was a very smooth landing, we were one of the first to get through customs which was great as it was very busy with our plane carrying over 400 people!! we grabed our bags and headed to the terminal to get our car.

That was pretty painless as well so then it was on 417 to disney!! we got to pop century within about 30 mins.

Upon entering pop century we were both very pleased, we had only ever stayed in all stars and we both said this one was much better, i think they had learned from all the mistakes from the all stars and corrected them here.

We are located in the 80s building with a view on the gates to walt disney world so that is nice.

We had dinner in the hotel and decided to have an early night as we were both up for about 24 hours.

We headed to the food court for dinner and we got chicken strips and double cheeseburger! our first disney food this trip!!!

Oh at check in we got just married pins!! even though we said we were here to plan it and every one was congratulating us!!

Day 2

Today we met with meri our wedding planner at francs, we had a 9 am meeting time so we left pop century to drive over to the grand floridian. We stopped at mcdonalds for breakfast and then got lost trying to reach the pavillion!!

As soon as we walked into francs we were very overwelmed by it all, the things they have in there are amazing. We took loads of pics but they are not uploaded yet so will post them as soon as i get back.

We then went into a meeting room with meri and started going through all the details of our wedding, it was a bit weird at first but we soon settled into it!

We then had the cake tasting which was was soo nice. We are going t go with almond and amerreto, carrot and cream cheese and chocolate and rasperry mouse. they were all soo nice.

Laura from disney floral then came in and we started talking linens and flowers, we are only going with silks so we pretty much had the choice of anything, i had a bouquet that i loved so i’m going to go with that but different colours.

The choice of linens and the chairs and covers were so confusing as there was soo many to choose from but we got there in the end.

We decided to go with a roman table as we only have a small amount of guests.

Once we finished with floral we only had a few more details like decoration of the whitehall room to look at and we were done!!

We had abreak so we went over to the pavillion and we were so amazed by how great the place was. we are sure that this place was the best for us to get married, so we took loads of pictures but will upload them when back.

At 2:30pm we went over to the grand floridian convention centre to look at the whitehall room and patio and the menu tasting!! The room and patio was soo nice, the patio was smaller than i expected but was really nice.

Going into the kitchen was so weird but we were greated by the chef and a server which was really nice. our names were on the ticker in the kitchen which was nice and then we started eating!!!

We had picked :
chicken quesadilla
cheddar cheese soup
penne alla vodka
tropical fruit sorbet in ice slipper
coconut almond chicken from kona cafe
parmesan crusted chicken
peppered beef filet
chocolate slipper dessert

they were all sooo good. the quesadilla was lovely and we choose that as our appertise, DF loved the soup so he is going to have that as his appertiser!! We both thought the penne was nice but nothing special so that was off the menu. The coconut chicken was like nothing we have tasted, we both loved it so that was on the menu. Parmesan chicken was ok but not for the wedding. The filet was so nice so this is going to be a duo plate with the chicken. the sorbet and dessert was as expected and both fantastic.

We then got a gift from the chef of some wedding tea bags in a tin which was lovely.
That was it our wedding was planned!!

Now its getting the BEO in and falling over with the price!!!

Sarah I'm so jealous of you right now :)

Can't wait to see all your pictures

Thanks for the report!! I really can't wait to see the pictures!!

It sounds like you had a great time! I can't wait to see pictures!! :)

OMG the food that you have chosen sounds completely yummy-scrummy.

I've heard sooo many brides to be say that Disney's Penne alla Vodka is just OK and so I think you made some great choices there.

I did the exact same thing when I took me dress on board, given that it was being steamed I just shoved it in a suit cover and folded it in half, then when I got on board they saw that it was a dress and went and hung up for me, bless them - although I really wish that Gatwick would give us our 2 hand baggage allowance back like Heathrow has!

LOVE Pop and yeah I have to agree it is soooo much better than the All Stars IMHO.

Your menu tasting sounds amazing! Your really getting me excited about going to my PS tomorrow! I can't wait to see your pictures!

I can't wait to see your pictures! I am having a White Hall room reception as well and I am going to my planning session in March.

One question for you: When you are choosing table cloths, chair covers and everything do they give you a general price or do you have to wait until you get your BEO?

i agree sam, i had it as well and wasn't impressed at all! and i was more excited about that at my wedding than any of the other food!!!

It sounds like everything went so smoothly! Thanks for being so quick with your TR :thumbsup2 The food sounds delicious and I would love to try the quesadilla!
