Orange Stinger for Pooh Sized People?

This is my 7th trip to Disneyland but one ride I have never done is Orange Stinger. My 10 year old son has his heart set on it but my husband cannot stand rides where his feet dangle. So my son is begging me to go on it. My questions is this: Is there some sort of weight limit? Has any plus sized person ridden this thing? I have a deep fear of being turned away and being humiliated but my little boy is dying to ride the stupid thing! Any input is appreciated! It is time to diet and leave these worries behind!!!

I think there is a weight limit. And I think it is pretty low. I recall my husband getting on it (I DO NOT LIKE rides that spin so I was with the baby) and after he went up in the air, I noticed the weight sign. If I recall correctly, my husband was a little over it. He rode with no problem. He did not know he was over the limit prior to getting on. Since the lines were so short... there was no wait and he and the rest of our group just went on without reading the warnings.

The weight sign is clearly posted and you should be able to read it without embarassment.

There used to be a 200 pound weight limit, but the weight limit sign is no longer there, so I'm guessing that they must have at least changed it. I hover in that area and have ridden it. Unlike some swing rides, I didn't feel squished in the seat at all.

It looks like iceskatejen has more recent info. The story I was talking about happened on our first visit to DCA, the April after it opened.

While the limit is not enforced (if even still in effect) I have heard it can be a "tight squeeze" and even unconfrontable for the Pooh sized. It is very visable from the outside and I would say that if your son wants to ride, then he and you should be okay with him doing it on his own. I have let my kids go on this by themselves with no problem.


Being Pooh sized and not being able to ride in "circles" I have always avoided it, same as dumbo, the carasel and all other circular rides.

Think I will just wait with him then let him ride while I camcord. Would hate to get on if there is some weight limit then have my swing loaded down with my Pooh sized body go flying off into the atmosphere! Thanks everybody, have wanted to ask this question for months but was too embarrassed!

There is no longer a 200 lb weight limit.

I had no trouble 'fitting' and I'm a short, apple body.
