Orange Squash?

With somebody asking about american bread the other day I thought I'd ask about orange or fruit squash.

When we went to Publix we couldn't find such a thing.
We take water bottles to the park to refill as we don't like fizzy drinks or many of the other drinks on offer.
DH and I are fine drinking water but the girls aren't so good at it and need a small amount of something to take the plain taste away.
Does anybody have a brand that I should look our for?
Thanks.
Joanne.

Americans don't do squash! My DW will only drink Robinsons orange or blackcurrant:confused3

Fortunately, Publix Do sell it. ( real, proper, genuine Robinsons:thumbsup2 ), They have a small selection of British goods tucked away and it's with those, not in the juice section with all the gatorade etc.

The one we always go to is the one on Central Florida Pkway, about half a mile off I drive at the Seaworld crossroads. They have it at the far end of one of the aisles near the cheese. Don't expect it to be cheap though, I think it was about $8 per bottle.

I have never seen it, if they have a Britsih section, you might be able to get some barley water. I think that the Americans buy it already diluted.
Plus they have the Gatorade drinks

Graeme is right, Publix stores have what they call an 'ethnic' section, you will find PG Tips, Heinz Baked Beans, Cadbury chocolate, Marmite and other things, including Robinson's cordial juice.
Very expensive though.

They don't have the range of concentrated drinks such as the likes of Vimto, Ribena - I guess 'Gatorade' is the nearest but tried it once and didn't like it at all.

It is strange how they don't seem to sell the range we have in the UK, same with crisps (potato chips), they have 4 or 5 flavours and that is all.

Walmart have a "British" section too, or have you considered fruit water?? There is one in the USA called Fruit 2o and it has nautral flavours and is great, we take it to the parks instead of fizzy drinks.

or you could try the powders like crystal or lemonade powders.. they do those in different flavors

We tried the powder stuff, but the packets we got only had instructions for making a gallon at a time so it was difficult to judge how much to use for a smaller bottle.

did you try the gatorade that they sell in the parks? i think it's awful, but my kids liked it.......you could water that down if it's too strong...

They now come in singles.

We just took bottles of orange squash with us in our suitcases with no problem. When we ran out we did find at walmart. The only cartons we found were capri sun in various flavours.

My youngest daughter dislikes the water as well but takes Gatorade as suggested above.

This is what you want. KOOL-AID or for no sugar Crystal Light On The Go.

We (Americans) have always had what you call squash, but in powdered form. We often just call it Kool-Aid, the way you call all vacuum cleaners hoovers. :) It's pretty good, give it a try. And now it comes in singles it's super easy to take to the parks.

The tap water is highly chlorinated - have you tried bottled water? It's also the best for making a cup of tea.

There is a little shop at Old Town which sells all the British stuff that you could ever want - expensive mind you!

We take our own, as the Cool Aid powder is seriously not nice! :)

We usually take squash with us but it is available in Walmart & Publix for a price. The Kool-aid sachets are handy to carry to the parks but our family didn't find the flavours very appealling. We found that freezing bottles of water and carrying them in a coolbag to the parks meant we always had a cold drink and because it was cold it was much nicer and more refreshing even without any flavouring.

we usaly take a bottle of vimto with us.a nice change after all those cokes

So you've had no problems carrying the squash bottles? I suppose if I wrapped them up well they wouldn't leak... At home I only drink squash and water so I end up paying out $$ for robinson's orange at walmart - would be much easier and cheaper to bring some form home... and then I'd have room in my case coming back ;)

I did check out the singles of crystal lite but they have artificial sweeteners in that don't agree with me.
