We usually do some non park things each trip and my DD wants to go orange picking this time.

I've found showcase of citrus at clermont which seems the sort of thing we are after and was wondering if anyone has been or has any other recommendations.

We go October.

Thanks

Website looks good, didn't know you could do this sort of thing

Blame it on cbeebies.

DD loves an episode of come outside where auntie mabel goes orange picking.

I thought if we did it early in the trip and just picked a few - we could have fresh OJ for the hols - you pay by the bushel but no idea how much that would be.

a bushel is a lot....you'll have plenty for your entire holiday and a lot leftover..

i've never been orange picking, but when we lived in michigan we would go apple picking every year...
you had to pay for a bushel and it was a LOT of apples...
i gave most of them away....
i would say we had something like 50 apples in a bushel at least...
so oranges would be about the same...

bushels are by size not weight. they give you this huge bag (a bushel) and you get to fill it....of course you don't have to fill it completely, but you've paid for that amount so you can fill it if you want to...

my kids always LOVED going apple picking....from the time they were toddlers...
so i would guess orange picking would be similarly fun to little kids ..and big ones :)

we are going here as it looks fun! bookmarked the website a few weeks ago :)

oh when are you going Netty?

If it's before us could you let us know how you get on

thanks

We did this last year, it was an offer of groupon.
The swamp ride thing was OK, but the fruit was fab, you can pick it yourself or it is in trays at the front, slightly cheaper if you self pick. They also have a season availability sheet for the fruit on the website or they used to , our favourite was the red navel, absolutely delicious. You can also sample the fruits on site, also sell fresh juices, jams, honey etc. We will def go back at the start of our next hol again,
