I opened the compactor this morning and Scruffy (AKA the thief :)) reached in and stole a huge slice of orange peel. Every time I try to take it I get the Elvis sneer/snarl. Will it upset his tummy anyone? I have to admt it does wonders for his dog food breath!

Well in my house if my dog snarled at me, he would be tasting the "alpha mat".:lmao:

As far as the orange peel, well I don't think it will kill him. Our dogs tend to steal clemetine peels all the time.
DH eats them and leaves them on the coffee table.

I can't imagine it being very digestable. if it was my dog, it would get taken away. But then again, anything he eats different than his dog food gives him horrible gas, so it would be as much for my benefit as it would be for his. :lmao:
But I have to agree, a dog growling when you try to take food away is not a good thing.

Our dogs eat the trash about once a week :sad2: They eat squirrels, skunks and birds whenever they get a change. I am guessing an orange peel isn't going to hurt him.

Well, I don't know. Growing up we had a cocker spaniel that was the sweetest dog you'd ever meet, you could take food right out of her mouth and she wouldn't say a peep.

One time my dad gave her a raw bone off a steak we were having for dinner that night. She normally didn't get treats like this, so it was a major treat! She took it and started to devour it. If anyone came near her she'd growl at them, which was totally unlike her normally. Once she finished the bone she was fine, and from then on we never had a problem taking other types of food away from her. She just had a thing for meat bones, I guess!

He wasn't trying to atttack or anything, just his way of telling me "Mom, I like this, don't take it" :sad2: I guess my concern was, as Magickndm mentioned, Scruff has tummy issues and eats Science Diet ID ($24 for a 10 lb bag:eek: ), and has started to develop gas problems too! He's my best buddy right now, after our trip to the vet for food ONLY (yay Mom, no poking or prodding) I stopped by Jerry's Drive in and we brought home our food (burger for me, Mutt Burger for him :)) Nah, this dog ain't spoiled!

You have a place that sells people and pet fast food? :lmao: I've never heard of that, but how cool!

It's like a Sonic, foods pretty good. The menu is on old LP's. The Mutt Burger is a patty, cooked well done and cut into bite sized pieces. The serve it in one of those little cardboard boats so that the dog can corner the bites easily. Funny, this dog never drools but when we pull into the lot his mouth starts to water!:lmao:
