Orange Lake Resort

Hello. I have friends staying at the orange lake resort in a couple of weeks. They knew we had been to Disney many times so they asked me for advice in where to eat. However, we have only ever stayed on Disney property. How close is orange lake to the parks? Any tips about this resort and restaurants close by would be appreciated!

there is a Macdonald not too far

that say the good restuarants not to mention Target and Publix - are go to the main entrance - turn left at the traffic light.

the back entrance is much closer - but much hardier to find unless they are near it.

It's about a 15 minutes or less to drive to Animal Kingdom, the closest park. I would probably say about 30 minutes or so from the time you leave the resort to the rest of the Disney parking lots. The resort is giant and sprawling and there can be some traffic around it.

There is a new Sweet Tomatoes, Panera Bread, Bahama Breeze, Longhorn Steakhouse all across the street along with a Super Target. Driving up and down 192 you can find pretty much any chain restaurant in America.

All these places are in the same shopping center as a Super Target.

There is also a few restaurants on property they can eat at.

There are a number of restaurants along 192 - or Irlo Bronson as the address says. There is an Orlando Ale House and Applebees right outside the gate.

If your friends don't mind paying a small toll, they can be on the Disney campus within minutes by hopping on state road 429 which is right outside the gates. The Disney access is off the Western Way exit....literally minutes. To get to Universal its a trip on I-4. I don't know a shortcut there
