Wow! What great pictures... your son is adorable!
We are atying here in mid March and are hoping for North Village near the splash pool. Do you have the number that you used to contact them prior to arrival? Thanks so much!

thanks!
My mom actually called since we were under a guest certificate through her (I thought she may hold more weight being an RCI owner) she just used the main number (407.239.0000) and asked to speak with a manager. She said it was a special occasion and wanted us to be in a newer unit and close to a pool. Sure enough, we ended up in the East village (newest section) in the building right next to the pool.
Last year when we stayed there, I emailed a request to be near the splash lagoon pool in the North village, and we ended up in the building next to that.
Maybe I have just had good luck with them, I don't know - but they have always seemed to pull through for us.
I have read some posts saying that they will now only accept requests from OLCC owners, but this was never mentioned when my mom called.
good luck!

Do the 2 bedrooms in the Tennis Villas have the 8/6 configuration as well?
Yes. There is one bed in the master bedroom, 2 in the 2nd bedroom, and then the couch is a pullout.

Thanks for the info Gary I will try for the condos this time around

Is the east village a newer area. Also, what is the room set up, what type of beds are in the second bedroom?

The newest section is the River Island section that is currently being built. Technically it is in the East Village but it will only be available to RI section owners. Some opening dates:

River Island - 2006
East Village - 2002
North Village - 1999/2000
West Village - 1982

Within the West Village, the Tennis Villas were first opened around 1997. These units are the same as units in the North/East Village but are next to the clubhouse with the beehive of activities there.

Sorry OT - But what is the quickest way to get from MCO to Orange Lake?

On the orange Lake web site it states that we should take 528 to the I-4 to the 192,
BUT looking at my Orlando map, wouldn't it be easier to take the south exit (Boggy Creek Rd) out of MCO to 417 and then take 417 to 192? Or perhaps there isn't an exit from the 417 to 192? If this is the case, then obviously the 528 route would make more sense.

How long approx. does it take to get from MCO to Orange Lake? I haven't booked our flight yet but hoping to arrive at MCO around 10 am on a Saturday.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

it will probably take approimately 45 minutes to get to OLCC

you might want to try the 528 I4 Osceola Parkway to Sherbeth Road ( the road near AKLodge aka back entrance into diseny ) then pick up 192 ( OLCC is only minutes from this intersection )

on Osceola Parkway, you have to be sure to "Keep" left near the entrance to Animal Kingdom or you will end up at the AK parking lot plaza

as far as 417 goes, you could get off to 536 that would then take you past the Marriott World Center and enters disney property near OKW exit ( make a left turn ) from which you would have then have to travel on disney property towards blizzard beach, all star sports resort and AK ( to get onto Osceola Parkway )

on a side note,

once RCI's computer system gets up and running 100% ....they will be charging tax on the "whole costs of Extra Vacations" to both online and phone calls

however, if you call and book there is a 25$ charge for talking to a nice VC

if you book nightly stays through RCI extra vacations, not only do you have to pay the cost per night and tax, but they also tack on a housecleaning fee ( one time charge ).....and since it is all booked on the phone they would probably try to tack on that 25$ charge

I don't think that you will really find a quicker route. The other routes have multiple traffic lights that will delay the short trip. Once you are close to WDW, you can skip some of the traffic lights on 192 by following lawgs' suggestions but remember it is really easy to take a wrong turn inside WDW property - I do it occassionally. You could look at the Walt Disney World Property map (1/3 to 1/2 down the page) at this site to help get a bearing.

On this map, you would take exit 26A onto Epcot Center Drive. You should get on the left hand side and at the stoplight, take a left. You should be on Beuna Vista Drive. To get to Sherbeth Road, keep driving straight as if you were heading toward the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You will not take any of the exits with the signs to 192 or the parks. As you near the Animal Kingdom, you will need to get into the left lane at some point as the right lanes will lead you to the Animal Kingdom parking lot and you don't want to go there. Eventually the road will come to a stop sign. Take a left at the stop sign. You are now on Sherbeth Road. You can continue until you come to another stop light, which is at 192 at which point you take a right, or take a right shortly before the stoplight onto Black Lake Road. The advantage of taking Black Lake Road is that you avoid the stoplights on 192 and Black Lake Road ends with a stoplight at 192. Takinga right on 192 (west), OLCC's entrances are the first two on the right. The Black Lake Road/Sherbeth Road really is the quickest way to get onto WDW property. The major time factor is the stoplights at OLCC's property entrances and the Black Lake Road lights. If the lights are green, you can be at the Animal Kingdom parking lot in around 10 minutes or less from the resort entrances. This direction is not difficult but it can be confusing. The easiest is to take exit 64A off of I-4 and head to OLCC's property from there. You do hit a few stoplights but its nothing compared to taking a wrong turn or two on Disney property - been there!

Hello, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who would be willing to refer a friend. We are looking into purchasing a timeshare in the future and would like to check out the Orange Lake Resort for a few days in Feb 08'
I'm not positive how it exactly works, but i read something about the people who refer get free credits, and the friends have to go to a 2 hour lecture about purchasing the timeshare.
Well any info would be helpful

Thanks....

your email must not be working...sent you one yesterday, thought you might get back, but as of 24 hours later, nothing

that being said

the referer does not get "anything", unless the referee buys timeshare from orange lake

the details about the present promotion was in the email
