I was just givent the opportunity to use a family friends timeshare for the week we are in Disney, I know the experience is not the same not staying on site, but with 4 kids we figure this will make it more affordable. Any rants or raves? How far is it really from MK and is there bad traffic?

We will be there 8 days 7 nights kids are 9,9,8,4 how long of a ticket should we get? add hopper? ( I can't see us going to more than 1 park per day) waterparks?

Thanks
Melissa

My mom has a TS in Orange Lakes as does my dad (VERY NICE place) and they both have offered their weeks to us, however we have opted to stay on site this Oct since we are going with the in-laws....and drivign in 1 car. This way is someone wants to got back to the room they can. Maybe in future years we may take them up on this, so I will be interested to see what other have to say.

This is my family's favorite resort. We love the space and ease of getting to Disney. My kids 8,6, and 3 love Splash Lagoon. They are all tall enough to ride the slide there. The slides at River Island require you to be 48 inches and they monitor. My 6 year old is about 47 inches and they told her on one slide that she was too short and then radioed to the other slide what she looked like and what bathing suit she had on. We have stayed in both the West Village and River Island sections. I prefer West Village, my 2br/2ba , was renovated and there was a smaller pool right outside for evening swims. We found River Island to be alot louder. I grew up going to WDW every year, we always stayed at my grandparents so I think the Magic is driving through the gates everyday and the anticipation makes it a great experience. We find it relaxing to come home to an area not so crowded. Enjoy your trip.

We own a timeshare at Orange Lake and we love love LOVE it! (Obviously, since we bought it :lovestruc ).

It is a beautiful and well-kept resort. The suites are great. There are pools and water parks everywhere. The golf is great (if you golf).

The resort is SO close to the parks. The drive time is literally just minutes. In fact, we were told that the back edge of the resort actually shares a property line with the back edge of Animal Kingdom.

They actually have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up from the parks at no charge if you are hesitant to deal with traffic. They also have an official Disney Planning Center (staffed by Disney Cast Members) in the main clubhouse where you can get tickets to Disney, make reservations for meals, and get priority seating for events as well as help plan your trip.

I would HIGHLY recommend it.

Hope you have a great time!
