What's the name of the frozen drink in France at Epcot? It's featured on the Disney Special with Samantha Brown. DH & I don't drink (haven't had anything alcoholic since about 1990/91), not even a beer but this drink looks so yummy, and I was determined to try one on our last trip a few weeks ago. Sad to say I didn't get too. As we headed around the world showcase I couldn't remember which country it was from, so we would stop and look (going from Mexico around to Canada). In Italy DH finally says "that's it". So I ordered an Italian Margarita (sp?) .........nope, not what I wanted. Didn't care for it at all, I think about $7.50 of it went in the garbage. When we finally made it around to France I saw them but decided to pass this go around - opted to have a slice of cheese cake from the pastry place instead.

So tell me, what is this orange drink called and opinions for those who have had - would non-alcoholic consumer like it?

It's called a Grand Marnier slushy, but I've never had one (or the lemon Grey Goose one, either!) so I can't comment. But I have heard they are delicious and am determined to try one on my trip next week!

Yes, since I definately know where they are now I'll have to try one too. It looked more like a cool drink and maybe wouldn't taste so strong. Now to start planning another trip. :rotfl:

We just came back this weekend and tried it for the first time and it is the most wonderful thing ever. Nice and sweet and orangy and not heavily boozey tasting, that is a dangerous thing because they go down so easily!

That's what I was hoping for in taste.....at $8 or $9 a pop though I think I can limit it to just one.:goodvibes

How much alcohol are in these? On par with a Smirnoff or similar or a bit stronger? Would one be too strong to drive on a few hours later? (Doubtful, but better safe than DUIing...) We aren't big drinkers, but everyone raves about these and I love a good orange drink...

I finally got to try the Grand Marnier slushy while we were down in June, but it was just ok. Almost too sweet for me. I loved  my Lapu Lapu from the Poly though

DH and I only drink on vacation or on a special occasion and we each had 2 of them around 4pm. We had dinner at 5:45 and drove back to our room at 8ish. We were not buzzed at all so I dont think they are strong...but man they are good!

In case you're thirsty, I recommend a bottle of water before drinking one of the Grand Marnier slushies...otherwise, you're probably dehydrated and will feel it quicker.

The Grey Goose slushy is more "citrus-y" light refreshing (I didnt feel the alcohol as 'burning' going down, They arent as fruity as the lapu lapu, but they dont have as much alcohol - well lapu lapu's are served in a pineapple, so they are larger and have rum in them!)

the Gran Marnier Slush is made from my favorite liquour Gran Marnier - it is more hmmm heavy? I dont mean heavy sweet, but more orange-y and it tastes like Gran Marnier to me!!

I prefer the lighter, citrus-y Grey goose slushie - esp in the hot day! At night I think I'd prefer the Gran Marnier, dh and I each get one and we share!! I'm always glad to taste the Gran Marnier, but glad I have the Grey Goose!

(I'm hoping this isnt clear as mud!)

The Grand Marnier slushie was just like one of those orange ice pops with vanilla inside (to me at least). Very yummy, but towards the end I didn't want anymore.
I was totally up for another Lapu Lapu, but would have probably needed assistance back to my room :dance3:

Both of the slush drinks are excellent, I tend to prefer the Grand Manier/Orange slush over the Grey Goose/lemonade.
But be careful...after several hours sitting near that stand with a small group of people and it can turn into this: ::yes::

This occurred this past May during a Dismeet...we had fun!

Where exactly in France do you get one of these?

OMG, that is too funny!!

Do you happen to remember if the Italian Margarita had Amaretto added to it? I LOVE Olive Garden's Italian Margaritas and if they are made the same way, I will be in heaven!

So looking forward to Sept and my Grey Goose slushie....it's going to go down quite nicely!! Cheers!

DH and I both liked the Orange Drink the best, but he still wants to order one of each on our upcoming trip. Expensive, but YUMMY!!
